Polls Pile Up In McCain's Home State: A Dead Heat
by Dawn Teo
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dawn-teo/polls-pile-up-in-mccains_b_138788.html

PHOENIX -- Five polls conducted over the last two weeks here describe the race for the presidency in John McCain's home state as a dead heat.

When the first of the five polls was released a few days ago, some Arizonans wrote it off as an outlier. Then another poll came out with similar results. Then the Arizona Capitol Times reported that an internal Republican poll had found the same results. Then another and another. Five polls.

Five polls.

27. Hey, if MT is in the running Arizona should be too. Get the Rez voted!
Turn the West blue.

That would sure look pretty on the media's wall map, AZ, NM, NV, CO, MT, and ND deep blue.

4. I think it's too late to mount an offensive in Arizona
We have our hands full in too many other states, any one of which could clinch the election.

We'll grab Arizona next time. Just like Texas.

10. If AZ goes for Obama, we're looking at the destruction of the Reagan Republican Party
I'd really enjoy seeing it happen Tuesday night.

8. Ok this one time I will say it - I told you so

Well not you - we were in agreement but others that were doubtful.

Phrigndumass and I were geared up to do a weekly on the AZ polls and compare it with 4 years ago and everything but the polls did not come out frequent enough.

17. Arizona would be the ultimate repudiation of the SICK FUCK politics the GOP has been running
It would tell the Freepers and their racist cohort once and for all that nobody can stand their bullshit.

26. Did you see the front page of the Sunday paper on the AZ Daily Star ?
They said that AZ is actually a purple and the republican hold is an old assumption. Pima County has always been blue. But Maricopa and Pinal are changing and that is going to change the political face of AZ in the very near future. God I hope so.

31. I know a number of anti-McCain now voting Obama because the race is tightening
They were going to vote third party as a FU to the Republican Party that deserted them (fiscally conservative/socially liberal voters), but now are voting Obama because McCain losing Arizona would be a more effective FU.
