"Gimme ONE good reason why I should vote for Obama"
Y'know, I get SICK AND TIRED of the speculators claiming that people are supporting Obama because they're in "Anyone But Bush" mode or because he's cashing in on the economic malaise (as though no Presidents past have done so but ANYWAY), or he's Black.

So, I'm hoping that we can dispel this claptrap and offer to those peeking in some GOOD FAITH REASONS to vote for this man. I'll start it off.

My 1 good reason: his agenda involves resurrecting the interstate rail system, which I still can't understand why this vital transport alternative was allowed to fester and decay in the first place.

Your turn, DUers! I know you can do it!

3. Because he is going to implement a program for Americans
to serve their country, whether it's the military, civil service, VA, and they will get help with their college tuition.

And along the same lines as you he is going to get a "New Deal", to get people to work by rebuilding the decaying Infrastructure of this country.

6. How about because he is smart and may be able to
get us out of the biggest mess this country has been in since the civil war. WWII was a piece of cake compared to the problem in the Middle East.

7. His Infrastructure Reinvestment plan will do for our generation
what the CCC did to put Americans back to work after the Great Depression.

10. For anyone who seriously just needs that "one good reason"...
you're not going to get them with hope, the rail system, or any of that.

Just one answer is necessary. Of course you have to preface it with a question: "Do you make more than $250,000 a year?" If the answer is no (which it will be for 95% of the population), then just point out "You'll get a bigger tax cut than you would under John McCain's plan."

Simple and direct.

13. "I'll hit you if you don't."
That's what I feel like saying sometimes, I swear!

But I like your reason. And I didn't know that before, thanks. One more thing to like.

14. He can lead
Obama can in no way get everything done without millions of Americans backing his policies, pulling up our sleeves, and getting after it.

He can inspire people to work because he will never ask us to do anything he isn't willing to do himself.

This is a rare, precious trait in a leader--to lead by example--and the effects are just astounding.

15. your 1st reason ROCKS
I'm so mad/crazy about anything environmental I can't even form sentences so I can't take part, really.
I just wanna say a huge-scale rail system is something I hope to see someday, I'll LOVE that for so many reasons!!!!!!!!

16. ANOTHER good reason
He's calling for the removal of this ridiculous barrier on American buying their pharmaceuticals abroad for the lower prices; imagine that, upholding the cause of affordable healthcare while striking hard at Big Pharm. A very CAPITALISTIC move indeed! ;)
