2. I hope not
Patrick is looked upon as another out of stater like Romney who seems to have moved into this high profile governorship as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. I think Obama stepped on Patrick's launch, so I see Patrick getting a job appointment in the Obama admin.

I would rather see a home grown senator than someone as out of sync with the state as Patrick is. I grew up here in Kennedy country so not having a Kennedy in charge is an alien thought for me.

3. Patrick Is Generally Seen Be Us As A Low-Wattage Opportunist
I doubt if he could win re-election against a decent opponent, let alone a senate seat.

4. No. He's not all that popular in Mass.
Everyone was speculating that he'd get an appointment from Obama and leave, as Mass governors are wont to do, but I think he recently said he intends to keep being governor. I've been wondering myself who might be heir to Ted's seat; nobody immediately pops into my head. And even after thinking on it for a while, nobody really comes to mind. I don't think Joe Kennedy is interested in political office at all these days; he could have had the governorship if he'd wanted it, but he didn't want it.

5. If you consider what he inherited, I think he's done okay actually... he inherited a ton of unfunded
mandates with a shrinking economy... that's a winner of a thing to get....

6. He's going to leave
He's not worrying about his in-state constituencies anymore.

10. My Congressman Has Mad A Huge Mess Of The Banking Situation
I love Barney personally, and he's very smart, sharp, and funny - but he's become quite gratuitously belligerent, and this banking situation is really an unmitigated disaster.
