I'll tell you this... the People Behind Obama have been Underestimated...
George Bush used to say he would surround himself with the best and brightest to tackle any problem, meaning he would rely on highly qualified people to help him govern. Of course it turned out that Dick Cheney took the big desk and the Neo-Cons took control, and Bush became an all-time vacationing figurehead, who would rather be clearing brush back in Crawford Texas.

On top of intelligence and judgment Obama has indeed surrounded himself with those who must be 'the best and the brightest' as we look back upon their efforts. They have planned in advanced, executed, and done it without fanfare among themselves.

Tonights 30 min presentation was tone perfect, done at exactly the right time, and will be studied by other candidates to come. For all the blunders Democrats have suffered from in the past, this Obama Campaign has set a high bar --- 'this is how it is done.'

1. Agreed ...

I said it a long time ago, during the primaries before I supported him and afterward when I quickly got behind him.

The man and his campaign staff are geniuses.

2. Throughout this campaign Obama has demonstrated the executive skills the GOP barks about.
He has run a brilliant campaign and if that translates accurately, he will be a brilliant president.

3. Does anybody even know the names of any staffers other than Axelrod?
It's a rhetorical question, in case it wasn't obvious.

4. My father does not do fluff.....
My family and I missed the start time of the special so we just finished watching our recording of it.

My father was late getting there and so I asked mom before we started, "does Dad want to see this?" He is solidly in Obama's corner, but he doesn't impress easily with rhetorical flourishes. He's not nostalgic and is highly cynical. I wasn't even sure he'd watch it.

But he did want to see it. When the special was done, he declared "That was amazing!" .... I looked at him to see if he serious. We're always being sarcastic about this election, both of us declaring how we're voting for McCain and how we just know Obama will lose by a wide margian "ha ha."

But he wasn't kidding.

Congratulations Barack Obama .... you have impressed my grumpy old man of a father. I cannot wait to see what the rest of America thinks of it.

5. It takes a mix of intelligence, experience and intuition to run a First Class Campaign...
There are obviously some very dialed in strategists working behind the scenes here, and they have executed in a way that many thought was impossible. Especially in a cycle with so many good Democratic Candidates.

Of course, good competition often makes better nominees. Take a note future candidates.

6. I thought you meant us!
The people who support Obama. When he was attacked, we said "enough!" and sent him more money. He spent it wisely.

The people he surrounds himself with are amazing. The best and the brightest.
