Poll question: Will the Election be Called For Obama Before Palin Makes It Back?
(SS)arah Palin is going to Alaska to vote on Tuesday. Alaska's polls open at 7am, Alaska time.

It takes 8 hours to fly to Phoenix, to join mcPOW. That puts her there, crossing two time zones, around 6pm, MST.

That is 8 pm EST. By 8pm EST that following state polls will be closed:
PA, FL, NC, OH, GA, IN, MS. By 9pm EST CO and NM will be closed.

Will Palin make it back to the POW "rally" before Obama is announced the next President?

1. As i understand it there has been no statement that she would leave AK
to join AZ - did you see something that indicated that she was planning to go back?

She earlier had planned to vote absentee but changed her mind -- my impression was that she was going to leave McCain by himself in AZ.

3. I found this:
A spokeswoman for the Alaska governor said Wednesday that Palin will return to Anchorage next Monday evening and then vote Tuesday morning in her hometown of Wasilla. Then she'll fly to Phoenix to join presidential nominee John McCain for election night.

14. I think, perhaps tinfoily, that she is done with mccain
and this race. She is going back home. She will not be back to the lower 48 until she runs for national office again.

18. Oh, I was sure you were going to say, "Isn't Mccain pulling crabgrass out of his..."
ass that night. It would have made perfect sense, but you're a gentleman, alright.

13. Bet she will be sent up there thinking she is gonna be brought back down here
And the campaign plane will take off and NOT come back and get her. Mcgramps will leave her up there. What is she going to do??
How long would a roundtrip to/from AK be? Guess it depends on where she is in the lower 48 when she takes off.
Unless they drop her off at a polling station at 7 am, let her cut in line for the photo op of her voting and then drag her ass back to the plane.

2. What if she has to wait in line for several hours to vote? Maybe even up to 12 hours?
Then, I believe, she won't make it back at all.

8. We were hopeful then too
Yes this seems different but I don't trust these repukes in the least. And I live in KC and MO is a swingstate. So we are being deluged with McCain ads and lots of repukes convinced he will win MO.

10.  I'm guessomg she will stay in AK. McLame is done with her....
My initial guess a few days ago was that she would be outta of the lower 48 Monday night..not soon enough for the Mclameass camp, judging by the infighting we are hearing about.
We will probably get live video of her "watching the results" throughout the night from some pseudo election return watch party in AK and that is the last we will see of her. I cannot see Mcgramps wanting her at his side during his consession speech.
It will be a redeye Monday night/Tuesday morning flight for Palin and family using ONE WAY TICKETS.

16. Networks can't call the election until the west coast closes....
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 08:27 PM by Clio the Leo
... one of the anchormen .... sorry, can't remember who, told (I think Jay Leno) yesterdary. (Sorry that's so vague, but I read it here, must be true.)

So while the news programs may be able to essentialy start calling it for Obama as early as the East coast states are counted, they cant OFFICIALLY say that he's won until the West coast polls have closed .. out of fairness.

That means, 8pm Pacific time, 11pm Eastern.

Give McCain until 11:30 to officially conceed on TV, give Obama another half hour to get all the Bidens to Grant park. :) ..... A new day will dawn for America at midnight on 11/05.

22. They can't call it officially, but,
if they call IN, OH, FL, NC or PA for Obama--We know what that means. And, I wouldn't be surprised if palin no-showed.

17. I don't know if she'll be joining him
McCain isn't going to be present at his election party, he's addressing them over a video screen, so she might stay put where she is.

My guess is if all goes well for us they won't call it until at least 10pm EST.
