I'm a damned cranky, late 50s white guy, cynical, who doesn't know tears. That was just moist eyes.

So forget it. Must have been something like allergies.

Yeah, that's it. Those tears aren't about my late single Mom who worked so hard, and they certainly can't be about hope for our nation, and the world, where no hope was expected just a couple short years ago.

Can't be about Dads reading to their daughters, because my daughter is 32, and of course, once they grow up, they are never the little girls you read to once upon a time.

Can't be that single Mom in Obama's show who can't make ends meet, or that retired guy who now has to work at Wal-Mart, or that third-generation Ford worker who has lost hope, or that Mom with eyes welling up whose son is in Iraq.

Where was the discussion of the really important issues, like mega-millionaires Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh's concerns about William Ayers? Why are issues like that being missed? Don't those issues put food on the table, send kids to college, clean up our environment, recharge our economy? Wasn't that what it was all about with Rev. Wright, and now Bill Ayers?

Well, they can make their own arguments, and have their own priorities for our nation. I kind of liked that positive stuff that Barack talked of - you know - peace, prosperity, hope and change.

The kind of stuff that makes my eyes water. Like allergies.

1. It's my cat's fault. She decided to sit in my lap and made my eyes
all runny.

4. It was my 19 year old sitting by me
Who made me cry,
actually, my grandmother, who I was named for, died of breast cancer.
She did not seek treatment because of lack of insurance.
The tumor was the size of a grapefruit when they took it out.
She died before I was born.
But I have her name...

6. Yes we can. Yes we will.
This time, we take back our country. For your grandmother, and mine.

Thank you.

17. We're all Daydream Believers now. Except this is no daydream.
It's going to be a dream come true.

14. Can you say "bounce"?
That may have been the most moving political ad I have ever seen. Obama will gain at least 5 points over the next few days. But DON'T TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED. Volunteer this weekend. Be part of this! Make sure Barack goes all the way!
