I got a fantastic early birthday present!!!!!!
I was planning on going to vote early today. My husband took off of work to spend the day with me because tomorrow is my b-day and I will be at work for 10 hours and we will barely see each other. Well that in itself was a wonderful surprise. I had a day filled with some errands and he came along and was my chauffeur! When I went to vote he dropped me off and I ran upstairs to go vote. Before long, here comes my husband and he GETS IN LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now mind you my husband hasn't voted 1 x during our marriage. He said that when the popular vote was given to one candidate but the other won with the electoral vote he didn't believe in the system anymore and that the elections were pretty much fixed anyway..... Imagine the arguments that I have had with him over the last 20 years..... Well, getting back to voting, I looked at him like "ha ha, but you know that you FIRST have to register, right?" and he basically just grinned. Well, let me tell you, I almost fell over. Turns out one day when he was giving me a lift to work we passed by the village hall and there was a sign out there about registering to vote, and I, as usual pointed out how convenient it was and that it was a perfect opportunity to register without any hassles. Well he actually listened to me and registered to vote. THEN in my surprise, he actually voted today - for the first time in over 20 years!!!!

What a wonderful wonderful birthday present I just received....

As for the icing on the cake, I struck up a conversation with one of the election workers, and she told me that they usually have maybe 30 people a day voting in early elections, sometimes it has been 17 people a day - so far this election there has been averaging between 500-600 people voting a day!!!!!!! Today they hit 23,000 votes. They said that has been the total vote in some elections.......

I always said that if we each could get one convert, one extra voter to the polls, we would win by a landside - well today I got my "one" and he was the 23,000rd vote cast( and (23 has always been one of my favorite numbers). I am beyond happy, there are really no words to describe how I feel!!!! Thanks for listening!

4. That's a wonderful story!
Now here's the clincher: did he vote for Obama?

It sounds like you need to clone your husband. :)
