Ford F150 with cross, NRA and Obama for President bumper stickers in Virginia today
I saw it on my way back from work.

I'm seeing things during this election that indicate a real cultural shift in this country, impenetrable to the fear tactics so effective during the 80s and 90s.

There is something very special about this candidate of ours who inspires and reflects this.

5. That's crazy!
Goes to show what a big umbrella our guy carries, while the fundies fight conservative moderates for the Republican one.

Hey folks - come on over and enjoy some Democratic shelter!

9. We have a guy driving around Virginia with the sides and back of his SUV
painted with a three-foot Obama logo. I've seen that car in at least three far-flung places around Northern Virginia. There's a Lutheran church on Annandale Road with a giant 20x5 'Vote for Change' sign out front, and someone recently erected a comparably big sign on the median of Route 7 on the way to Fairfax.

I haven't seen passion and organization like this for a Democratic candidate EVER.

6. Nice!
I think that even beats the non-descript sedan I saw last week here in Texas with yellow ribbon magnets, Jesus fish, stickers with their daughter's name ("Tegan," one of the whitest, WASPiest girls' names ever, apologies to anyone named Tegan here on DU) and high school soccer team, and a huge "Evangelicals for Obama" sticker on the bumper. Yay!!

8. I agree with everything but "Tegan"
A friend of mine named her son Teagan (extra "a")... and they're blue collar, hard working dems.

In this day & age.. i don't think names mean jack. We gave our kids "different" names... unusual, but not off the wall. I have friends who are snobs who have named thier kids Joey & Thomas... and down to earth friends with Aidric, Shayle and Korbin.

Then I also have a 2 couple friends with Aiden & Grace, and Emma & Tyler, etc.. and those two couples are almost identicle in class.

So, my point is that names in this day & age don't really seem to mean anything regarding class, finances, etc. Rich people and poor people are all naming their kids crazy stuff.. :)

10. This is all very true.
Parts of Texas are still a little, er, traditional though. People here get suspicious if you only have one first name, or if you don't share that name with a single country singer or Biblical character. :)
