5. A silent TV catches more attention than a loud one.
People will think something is wrong with it and then see the ad.

2. Sometimes, a picture speaks a thousand words.
In this case, a wink says it all.

4. This ad should have the voice of........
McCain saying the text. It was on this morning and I never looked up from the newspaper. Heard The Scarborough show bozos talking about it. Having TIVO I was able to zip back and play it.

McCain saying his own words would be more damning, IMO.

9. But he isn't on tape saying the Vice President quote
That's why they didn't use a voice over of McCain. Also, the ad has nice music playing in the background and doesn't seem like it's really an attack ad.

6. It's a devastating ad.
They don't have to 'say' anything. Palin makes it clear.

8. oh snap!
I love the way that no explanation is needed--just show a picture of her.

Also, can I just say that our guy is classy? (I thought you'd be okay with that. :) )
The quote is:
"I'm going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated."

Now, do you think that McCain's ad people would have left in their opponent's "I'm going to be honest" line if the situation were reversed? It's a little thing, but just those few words in McCain's favor don't need to be there, yet they are.

10. I'm curious about that faint "click" as Palin's image comes on..
At first, I thought the click was at the same time as the wink, but it's not.

Maybe it's intended to alert that the wink is coming?

Any thoughts on that?

Anyway, I think it's a great ad. I'm sure the Obama team has thought it through very carefully.

11. I hadn't noticed that click -- its effect is subliminal.
I think you're right -- it's an attention getter.
