THOUGHT: Win in PA VA and FL will help Prop 8 in CA
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 08:52 AM by Ioo
The US is big, in fact there are only a handful of nations so large as to have 4 time zones...

One of the things that has always been an issue with out 24 hour news cycle and the way we hold elections is that because the bulk of the population lived in the Eastern (and central) timezone, and the bulk of the battle ground states are on this site (sorry NM, you may be blue, but with 5 EV, a battle ground state you are not), many folks on the West side of the US know who win while the polls are still open over there.

THOUGHT....

If, as it looks, FL, VA, PA go for Obama, I do not think that there is a way McCain can win period... and that means that MANY of the McCain supporters in CA will just be no shows...

I was in CA 2 weeks ago, and my gut tells me that those that are for NO on prop 8 are far more NO than those that are yes...

Sure there are a few uber right wingers that are going to go vote for Prop 8, but I feel that for many "republicans" prop 8 was not the reason for going, only a cherry on there hate filled sundae, while the Dems, they know who is going to win the state, Obama is polling something like +30, so they are going to polls for prop 8, that is there ice cream, voting Obama is the cherry...

So, I think that a win over here helps prop8 over there.

Thoughts?

1. I think the only reason Palin was in CA
was to rile up the base for Prop 8. The polls are tightening there where Prop 8 is concerned and my huge concern is voter turnout if it looks like Obama's gonna win. People staying home goes both ways and there are going to be some Dems who do as well.

3. I agree at some level, but I think Dems Vote for Prop 8 - Not Obama...
there is not a question of who is going to win there...

The Right wing is floating that CA may be in play for them... if it is a wash by 9 or 10 EST, the righties are going to go home...
