Well this place is going to be CRAZY with Concern today
Yes, the polls are tightening, as many people expected, but for me the key thing is that Obama remains above 50%, which would equal a win.

Not to mention, he is still way out in front of these state polls that are in the field the same time as these tracking polls.

And everything changes tonight with Obama's 30 minute ad.

1. I think the reality of the situation is hitting home -
this race is going to end and we will have our next President in less than one week. It will be Barack Obama. And yet, because it hasn't happened yet, it's easy to think of all the reasons and signs that he won't become president.

This outburst of anxious concern trolling is natural and to be expected. I certainly feel the same way, a mix of real hope and optimism and confidence buttressed by what I see going on out there in reality, with a nervous anxiety fueled by the clueless MSM and an internal pessimism common to many liberals and democrats.

The anxiety will pass, as reality sinks in and we focus on the future instead of our horrific experiences with recent past presidential elections. Keep reminding yourself, this is 2008, not 2004, and not 2000. Obama is our candidate, not Kerry or Gore.

6. I personally think that everyone should take it easy on the
people who are concerned.

Anyone who got emotionally invested in the last election (and the prior election to that) knows how devestating it can be for some of us.

They don't want to feel that way again. Hell I don't want to feel that way again.

It's obvious when someone is a troll (has low post count and you can tell from their post) and someone who is actually concerned and just wants to come here to get reassured because maybe they live in a red state and are surrounded by republicans... they have nowhere else to go.

This is nerve wracking and we are in crunch time! If you don't want to read the concern posts don't click on them. If you can offer someone some support then post.

We should be there for each other. We all want the same thing.. Barack Obama as president. We are in this together.

7. Wow, are you me?
Seriously, that's more or less exactly what I was thinking.

I've dreamed about an Obama presidency, but now that the election is winding down I'm finding myself getting more and more nervous every day. I don't want to imagine what Wednesday will be like if we don't win this thing--I'm glad I took the day off.

9. Yes! I'm your alter ego, you betcha.
At this point in the election, it's almost like the contest is over and we're just waiting for the judges' results. Except, unlike in figure skating or gymnastics, we have to wait 6 days not 6 minutes to learn about the outcome.

3. I'm so glad I already voted
Listening to all this pessimism for the next week would probably make me stay home on election day. And I'm in Florida.

4. I really wish I could be put into an induced coma until Tuesday morning.
I can't do ANYTHING. I have work to do and deadlines to meet, but I can't focus. I can't even imagine what life is going to be like after all this is over.

8. The polls almost HAD to tighten a little
Obama's line kept moving up, and McCain's down on the chart. It's only reasonable to expect that Obama would hit a ceiling, and bounce down, and then back up against it. The numbers can only go so high, after all. Likewise, McCain's numbers can't go to zero, so they bottom out and bounce on the floor a little.

The Electoral Vote numbers, however, are astronomical!

10. I just wish that those who are concerned
would use a little bit of that concern on being concerned that their non-stop handwringing and defeatism might make cause some to respond with giving up and losing hope.

If you got to be concerned then be so in a measured way as you want those who are enthusiastic and optimistic to be. You are being selfish by putting the need to guard your hearts ahead of those that need a beam of hope and those who will run with us if they feel the wind at our backs.

We understand your concern but everyone is not set up to respond just like you. We all have a stake in this, this is not all about you because it is about US.

Fear is the mindkiller.
