Dick Morris: Obama might still have a small chance to win
Dick Morris: Obama might still have a small chance to win

A new AP/GfK poll today of 8 swing states shows Obama leading in all 8 of them -- 6 of them by wide margins (CO, NV, NH, OH, PA, VA) and 2 by small margins (FL, NC). The RCP average of all polls shows Obama with a national lead of 6.8%, roughly what it has been for weeks, and also shows Obama with a lead in every swing state. And FiveThirtyEight's model currently estimates that Obama's probability of winning is 96.2%, while McCain's is 3.8%.

But Fox News political strategist/genius Dick Morris this morning has a message for Obama supporters: while things obviously look extremely bleak for your candidate right now, there is still a small chance that, if everything goes absolutely perfectly for Obama, he still might be able to eke out a narrow victory:

2. In other news, Dick Morris might still have a small "Little Richard"
which is why he seems to be compensating for something with his douchey analyses.

3. And why does anyone hire Dick Morris to do ANYTHING?
That dumbfuck is as reliably wrong about everything as William Kristol. He should be doing something useful with his life -- maybe working as the night manager at a 7-11 -- instead of wasting electrons blathering idiotically on television.

4. Obama is hanging on by his toes!
Thus Dick Morris is extremely interested.

9. Fortunately, there are other, more "pro-American" regions to compensate.
If the whole country were Cincinnati, we'd already have a crazy fundie theocracy. I feel sorry for you living in that area. Politically, I mean. Perhaps it is nice in other ways.

7. I had to go and read that...
It was just so surreal. His logic is that the undecideds will move in droves (or like lemmings) to McCain. Greenwald correctly adds that there is no evidence for that. Some movement can be rationized, but that much is a stretch. The folks at Intrade, etc. are unimpressed as well. Dick Morris, you still live in a parallel universe, don't you? The only people who will move like a herd of cattle to McCain have already done so....for that's who they are...that's what they do best.

13. Something to support this...
This is from another (nearby) thread which quotes LA Times pollster Gary Langer;

"...those who say they will ...This overall early voting group favors Obama over McCain by 59-39 percent, essentially the same as it is among those who’ve gotten it done already."

Just no solid evidence of a stampede toward McCain...assuming, of course, that all the Obama supporters actually vote.

...by the way, for your entertainment I'm adding this YouTube of the famous "Herding Cats" commercial...it could just as easily be called "herding independent voters";

12. This, from the same guy who has had Obama winning in a landslide in his map?
Funny how he's changing his tune and pretending like he never said any of that now.

After Obama wins, look for him to "reconsider" his conservative position.

20. Well, he ALSO said....
.... twice this weekend on Geraldo's show that unless McCain overcame Barack's lead by Thursday, he was done and had no chance of winning.

Can't wait to hear what he has to say tomorrow night. :)
