5. I am an Independent, but voted straight Democratic ticket this time.
This is the first time in my life that I have voted a straight ticket. I believe that the Republican Party must suffer a crushing defeat to wake them up. Especially those Republicans who vote Republican because they are Republicans. I could never understand how working class people could vote a straight Republican ticket. These are the saps who bought the company line that unions are their enemy and management would take good care of them. They took care of them alright, outsourced their jobs, cut their pensions and canceled the health insurance. Sadly, far too many Democrats went along with them.

6. I never understood that either oldgramps ...
... do they LIKE suffering? How anyone could think outsourcing jobs, cutting pensions and cancelling health insurance (which GM has done to my 80 year old mom now) is helping ANY thing or any ONE? (well, except maybe the companies who all to often are rewarded via tax cuts for some of this garbage).

Pffft!

7. My Mom and Dad and I
went to vote yesterday here in Tennessee. We always make it a family affair. Of course I was raised a dem and was taught about politics from a fairly young age. My Dad kids me that my Mom stood over my sister and my crib and whispered "You will be a Democrat". My mom is really a pol junkie and she kids that one day the secret service will be in the driveway to question her on all her letters and emails to the repugs in our state and on a national level. The lady pulls no punches. I am glad to say that she instilled the same in both of her daughters. We can't leave the country if Obama doesn't win. We know that we are on the "no fly" list. Do I sound paranoid? I'm really not. I know the dirty bastards are out to get me. When we are on the phone, we joke that we are probably being wire tapped. Anyone else feel that way?
All kidding aside,I love being able to come on this site and converse with like-minded people. It is such a refreshing change when you live around a bunch of one track minded repugs. I will say this though. I have noticed how many people that I work with have been very outspoken about their politics during this election. They are adamant that Obama/Biden need to win this. Remember, we are in Tennessee. Sounds good to me!
