I just voted for Obama/Biden in Wisconsin.

Great process, very smooth--surprisingly heavy turnout (lots of older folks), had to wait in line a few minutes. In WI early voting is done by absentee ballot; we use paper/optiscan in my town; don't know about the rest of the state. I did not vote straight ticket, but voted in each individual race. Held my nose and voted for our dumbass "New Democrat" congress-critter Ron Kind, who voted yes on both the bankruptcy bill which is partly responsible for the current meltdown AND retroactive telecom immunity. In the one uncontested race (R candidate only), which was for County Records Manager, or something, I wrote in a friend of mine.

1. I voted in La Crosse on 6 October at my City Clerk's office.

I voted for Kind also because it is important for Obama to have as many Democrats to support him in congress as possible.

2. It went very smoothly in Chicago too...

They had the touch screen machines - which I'd never used before - but they had a paper receipt that printed out and displayed next to the screen and you had to approve the paper ballot before the vote was submitted. That made me feel better to see the paper trail.
