Uh-Oh.... Looks like we're losing ground in a few states....
looks like we are losing ground in Arizona and Missouri:

Compared with yesterday's map:

I know I shouldn't obsessively check these poll maps... but I just can't help it. I really want to see a lot more blue.

But I never expected us to win AZ, since it IS McLame's home turf. Would it be SWEEEEEEET to carry AZ? Of course! But we're not gonna lose if we don't ...

Losing ground in MO or AZ isn't to be worried. Look at all the Kerry states...SOLID BLUE. They are ours. And look at all those former Bush states solidly in our column? 7 days away...7 days away.

7. Missouri is this year's Florida or Ohio
It's the state where things will go haywire and we won't have any idea who actually won. You have a mix of urban political machines and rural good old boys, so the potential for debacles is endless.

23. Aren't most states a mix
of urban political machines and rural good old boys?

What you're saying is not going to happen, except that St. Louis probably isn't prepared for the long lines they'll have. We have a highly competent Dem Secretary of State here, and I've read opinions that say we're overall well-prepared for this election. I only wish we had early voting.

30. the difference is...
it won't (based on the most recent polling and projections) come down to the results in one state.

Whether we take Missouri is likely to be moot, as far as the electoral vote count reaching 270 for Obama is concerned.

Several people finding out they aren't able to vote when they thought they were registered. This is in southern Missouri around the Springfield area.

All in all, unless there is disenfranchising, I expect Missouri to go blue.

Certainly looks better than what we were looking at exactly 1 week before the election in 2004. Here's how it looked on October 26, 2004 (Exactly one week before the election):

Bush 285
Kerry 247

yawn. People are posting these things without giving any thought to what polls are used to come up with this, considering a major poll had Obama gaining on McCain in Arizona YESTERDAY.

25. Hi Blue Belle. I hope you don't let others get you down....
My nonno (grandfather) said, "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all).

I wish members understood a few things: not all other members are here everyday for hours, so when they post something new to them, it's new to them.

Also, expressing concern and providing two electoral maps is not a bad thing, it is helpful to many, and it doesn't merit snarkiness.

I wish it didn't take such a thick skin to post here, but it does.

That's all I wanted to say.

26. Only way to see more blue is to leave the maps and volunteer for Obama
Helping get the vote out is the only way to make it so.

http://www.barackobama.com/splash/volunteer.html

Phoning, door knocking, data entry, bringing pie to other volunteers, the ways to help are infinite and critically needed right now.

My advice is step away from the map, go to Obama's website and find your nearest office and volunteer.

If you live in a Red State, you can make calls to voters in swing states using your computer through the Obama website.

And vote early if at all possible. Get your family and friends who support Obama to vote early if at all possible.

That map don't mean shit until Nov 5th. Let's change the map!

is the number of delegates. Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma make up an awful lot of red space on the map, but add up to only 30 delegates!

45. This day in 2004, Kerry had 88 "STRONG KERRY" EVs
And we lost that election by, what, 40,000 votes in Ohio?

Today Obama has 260 "STRONG OBAMA" EVs.

Yes, that's 172 more votes in the STRONG column than Kerry had this day 4 years ago.

We're 10 STRONG EVs away from a victory and with over 100 weak/barely's, and we're golden.
