... unless there is a three way race like 1992.

Unfortunately, elections are decided by LIV's who don't care about the issues.

6. Still ... they officially lost !
Didn't Stalin say ...

"It's not the people who vote that counts, it's the people who count."

10. Gore and Kerry ran two terrible campaigns...
those races never should have close enough to steal.

If we lose this race, it'll be taken as gospel by a certain portion of senior Democratic party officials as a repudiation of the very things that made this campaign viable and an affirmation of the "correctness" of the shit manner the last two campaigns have been run, which is the same way every friggin Dem has run since 1980...a long broken string of losses and we'd have lost 1992 as well except for Perot. 1996...incumbents win unless they've really screwed the pooch...and as 2004 showed sometimes even then.

Theft or no theft, the blame for the Gore and Kerry losses belongs at the feet of Al Gore and John Kerry and the people who ran their campaigns and everybody who argued that we needed to move centrist and corporatist in order to win national elections. A circle jerk of quislings...I have no use for any of them.

2. You may be right.
As my boss has said, if the Democrats can't win this year... they can't win.

3. If we don't, it's the ability to defraud and disenfranchise. We need to change the election system.
Make it observable and transparent, rules and laws that want to include voters, and machines that actually work. Right now we have junky, error prone and easy to manipulate electronics.

13. And if our victory is stolen again, we WILL change it.
It will also vindicate those that wanted Congress to enforce the Rove subpoena, and set impeachment in motion. After all, it was the politicization of the DOJ and the administration's refusal to honor Congress's subpoenas that has allowed this abomination to continue. If we want to regain our Constitutional rights, sooner or later some of the high-ups in the ongoing electoral fraud, including a couple of SOS's, are going to have to go to jail.

4. I disagree, but I will save specific comments until after the election!
For now, let's focus on winning! :toast:

We'll know in a week. No sense worrying otherwise.

7. No, if they can't steal this one, a REPUBLICAN President will never be elected again.
We've seen the worst effects of disenfranchisement now, if the problem can be corrected it will be the end of conservatism in national politics.

8. Democrats can win elections
it depends on weather or not the system is rigged like it has been the last two election cycles. If Obama does lose I will have lost my faith in Democracy in the US because it will be evident Facism has taken over and the country will have fully started it's transformation from what it was.

Obama is my last great hope!

9. Firstly there's no way Obama can legitimately lose this election
So we'd have to be talking about massive vote theft. If that happens it will be fought in the courts. Even if the Dems (and I don't even like to think about this type of scenario) fail in court, there's always impeachment after the investigation that would surely follow, of the election abuse. If the worst occurs, and McCain/Palin can't be sufficiently tied to the fraud to allow impeachment, we can outlaw the electronic voting and tabulating machines. Then a Democrat could (and almost surely would) be elected in 4 years.

BUT HE'S NOT GOING TO LOSE.

11. It'll be difficult, but it would take a catastrophe of epic proportions
to lose this one. We're within a week of victory and have a decent-sized lead.

12. you're confusing two things
1 - Republicans rely on sabotaging, cheating, and disenfranchising to win. Their idea of a brilliant person - Rove - is nothing more than a sheister.

2 - most Americans support liberal policy, even if they do not call it that.

Obama IS winning this in a landslide, and if he "loses" it will be because they cheated. I don't understand why the right hates democracy so much. In fact, I have to laugh at them accusing us of hating America, yet they've done everything in their power to undermine what makes this country so great.

16. My greatest concern is the Dem waiting around to say "I told you so" if the election is stolen.
Not the Dems warning of possible theft, but those warning (actually believing) that McCain could still win. The latter group (as they did in 2004) most certainly will not take part in exposing GOP fraud.

Republicans can only win by theft: vote suppression and electronic voting fraud.
