Cuyahoga County employee denies improperly checking driving record of 'Joe the Plumber'
Cuyahoga County employee has denied improperly accessing driving records of "Joe the Plumber" on a computer in the county's child support department the day after the last presidential debate.

Workers in the county department can access the state database through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to gather information about people involved in child support cases.

During the workday, an employee of the Cuyahoga Support Enforcement Agency looked up Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, a suburban Toledo man mentioned by Sen. John McCain during the debate, agency Director Jim Viviani said. County officials are preparing for a predisciplinary conference with the employee, who denied the allegation when confronted Friday. Wurzelbacher does not have a child support case in Cuyahoga, Viviani said.

One comment to the piece is hilarious:

Sam the Contractor Wurzelbacher is a patriot. He told the truth--he is going to buy a company that makes over $250,000, he has the money to do so, he pays his taxes, he is a licensed plumber, he's an independent, and he is undecided.

Don't let those "facts" that he's a contractor, not a licensed plumber, not named Joe, makes $40,000 and would receive a 300% larger tax cut under Obama than under McCain, his company only makes $100,000 and would receive more than double the tax cut under Obama than under McCain, he has a federal tax lien, is a registered Republican, and donated $100 to the McCain campaign before the end of September, weeks before he ambushed Obama with his phony question, confuse you! The liberal media will stop at NOTHING to varnish Sam's head!

1. I think 'Joe the Plumber' should change his name to 'Joe the Political Stuge'.

2. Do we now support government spying on citizens?
Who cares who Joe is when the issue is government spying on us? I suspect if Joe
was an Obama supporter, the outcry would be deafening.

Joe may be an ass, but even those who vote differently deserve the same protections as we do.

3. It's wrong to do it that way, for sure
There are other ways to find out whether someone owes child support, that are legal to pursue because it's public information.

If he's a little behind, it's no one's business-it would be wrong for someone to look it up on the state computer. If he's so far behind it's a criminal matter, than it's a criminal court case and the court files are public documents.

4. Joe the Fuckweed needs to go back where he came from and STFU.
At this point he's damaged discourse so badly that he may have singlehandedly destroyed a Presidential campaign.

McCain's, that is.
