Not one. I don't like anything about her personality, her family, her politics, her values, her stupidity, her incredibly annoying voice, her goofy facial gestures when she speaks, or her vastly over-rated looks.

She has no empathy for anyone but herself. She has NO FUCKING HEART.

I mean, how can anyone, especially a woman running for Vice President of the United States, be so fucking devoid of compassion that she would take pleasure in having beautiful wolves shot to death from helicopters? How can any woman in this day and age take such pride in blowing the brains out of a moose, an animal that is nothing more than a sitting duck and no challenge at all to hunt and take down with a high powered rifle? Even my friends who are hunters can't stand this rotten bitch (sorry about that) who has no regard for wild animals or preserving our precious environment.

How can such a dirty rotten environment-hating scumbag like Sarah Palin be the governor of arguably the most beautiful state in all the land, let alone the running mate on a presidential ticket?

2. It's hard to do, especially when the entire world is laughing at her deep stupidity
and tarring all of us with that brush.

We are nothing but a total joke in the world's eyes, an absurdity, thanks to nuts like John McCain, George W. bUsh, Sarah Palin, et-fucking-al.

66. Thanks
Speaking as someone from the rest of the world: thanks, we could do with a laugh :)

Now that the nightmare of these people actually having any power appears to be coming to an end, we can enjoy laughing at them. And yes, the stupidity of a significant minority of Americans is a never-ending source of amusement to us, but I think we all know that it is a minority.

19. Maybe the kid is cute for now, but the kid's mother is disgusting
in ways that make me cringe whenever her face is shown on the tube. The instant Palin's mouth opens to let out some words, the hatred just billows up inside of me. She has even surpassed Rudy Gulliani in terms of invoking pure and unadulterated disgust, and that is an accomplishment that can be only attributed to her overall lack of intelligence combined with her hateful rhetoric and annoying mannerisms that set her apart from almost any other high-profile person around.

Hell, just listening to her voice is like fingernails against a chalk board to me. What is really scary is that she is a caricature of radical right religious fanatics. There are millions of women just like her, just as brain washed. And men too, I might add. She is so high and mighty looking down and condescending towards those who disagree with her.

If she were a nice person, she would likely just be an average looking person who could use a makeover, and a toning down of her overall, "trying too hard" look.

But the main issue is definitely her rotten little heart. :-)

36. It's admirable that you tried, but there is nothing redeemable about Sarah Palin.
Edited on Mon Oct-27-08 11:06 PM by political_Dem
She has no scruples, manners, intelligence or even a conscience under that bee-hive hair-do. Now, people are beginning to witness Sarah the back-stabber. If it is true about McCain losing the election, we can honestly say that the old man has dodged a very big bullet from a helicopter. If Sarah had her way, he'd be permanently removed so she can climb up the ladder.

Not only that, her cruelty and lack of empathy really rubs me the wrong way as well. Notice how she stood there as people called Mr. Obama the N-word, threatened to kill him and even slandered him as a terrorist. And no one could miss that sneer she always has on her face. I know that the word censors get really upset about what we can say, but she deserves the very worst people can call her. She truly has earned all of those insults with her nasty behavior.

But the most repulsive thing about this woman is the fact that she lies. She does it without even feeling guilty about it. She couldn't tell the truth even if it saved her life. And what is equally repulsive is that she uses religion to hide behind her wrongdoing. Does she even think about her soul?

42. I normally have some admiration for those who can "fake it until you make it"
and on the surface it would seem that Palin is such a person.

She came from nothing. She is not particularly exceptional or outstanding.

Yet she became the first woman governor of a state and the first woman on her party's ticket.

Those are accomplishments that I should admire.

The reason I don't admire her accomplishments is because she is so STRIKINGLY UNWORTHY of both her office of governor and her position of VP nominee.

Fake it till you make it is great, but you've got to actually MAKE IT, which means DO THE WORK.

She's a mentally lazy individual. No surprise people are talking about her future not in politics, but in TELEVISION.

43. mtnsnake, consider this:
In a week's time, she'll be heading back to Alaska to serve out her only term as Governor, trying to dodge indictments and ending up as a 21st Century Dan Quayle, a has-been, an also-ran and a guffaw-inducing footnote in American political history. Then she'll vanish into obscurity, though perhaps making occasional appearances on Fox shows as their ratings circle the drain and nobody else returns their calls.

There now, don't you like her a little better?

44. Aw, come on. There's plenty to like about Palin.
For instance, I like that she's openly defying McCain and refusing to stay on-message.

I also like that she's exposing, for all to see, the racism and jingoism that are at the heart of the Republican party's base.

I like that she single-handedly killed John McCain's best argument in favor of electing him--his experience.

I like that she is a perfect example of McCain's poor judgment. He should have never chosen her as a running mate.

And I love her wardrobe.

Sarah Palin is the gift that keeps on giving. What's not to like?

Phil Munger at ProgressiveAlaska proposed that possibility a couple weeks ago. http://progressivealaska.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2008-10-23T09%3A14%3A00-08%3A00&max-results=10

Palin's Secret Strategy Unveiled

I have to say. I already had my suspicions. After all, she must have known just as well as thousands of others, how supremely unqualified for the vice presidency she really is. The whole "without blinking" meme was just the first step in her elaborate deception plan.

It was this image that came out yesterday that put the final piece into a part of the puzzle, making the remaining unplaced pieces so easy to settle into their slots and niches. By wearing a Democrats scarf, that might have cost thousands of dollars, she is sending a distinct signal:

"pssst - I knew all along I was going to destroy John McCain's chances. After all, he came in at about 1,000 votes behind Ron Paul, in the February Alaska GOP caucuses.

"I was about to endorse Obama - who trounced all the other Democrats in Alaska caucuses, when I got the call from McCain. If I ever came close to blinking (not to be confused with my secret signal winks), it was in the two seconds between McCain's question and my answer. I wanted to say, "Screw you and your anti-ANWR views," but I didn't. The rest is history.

"At the time, I suspected that Todd's Wooten stalking days might catch up to us. Soon. We needed a diversion. McCain offered it.

"And then it dawned on me: I've been fighting Republicans for years, even more than Democrats:

"What if I pretend to be a hockey mom with lipstick, while spending hundreds of thousands on designer clothes at places my trailer court base can't even pronounce?

"What if I leak the fact that I had my easily fired staff change a bunch of entries on my Alaska Governor expense reports in a self-serving way?

"What if I just stand there, like a moose caught in the headlights, when reporters ask me simple questions that even Levi Johnston could answer? Well, maybe not him, but possibly Bristol. Bristol? Maybe not, but maybe Todd? Well, we'll move along....

"If I create enough of a mess for McCain, it might even drive the numbers up on Democratic Party races all over the country, to give them a veto-proof majority in the Senate. And thirty or more U.S. House seats. Talk about sweet revenge on Randy Reudrich, huh? Obama might appoint me Secretary of State, or Treasury Secretary, or, or, or - Ambassador to Russia!"

"As long as nobody discovers I secretly converted to Unitarianism a year ago, this might actually work.

"I'll deal with Alaska later. Meanwhile, having the biggest secret ever in American politics is so much fun! It makes me feel so good, I just want to buy some more clothes. Every dress I buy keeps the RNC from making 200,000 robocalls....."

46. My thoughts exactly, Sarah Palin is wonderful
So wonderful that I hope the GOP nominates her in 2012. Obama won't even have to leave the White House to campaign. Just give her a microphone and let her talk.

48. Personally, I'm very grateful that she didn't have the good sense to turn McCain's offer down ....
... and so we owe her a large debt of gratitude. Had McCain picked Romney, this election could very well be a toss-up, rather than a slight edge for Obama.

Sarah probably thinks God had "made a way" for her, to become Vice President, and likely never considered the possibility that God, in his infinite wisdom, may have been looking to tip the scale for Obama in putting her on the Republican ticket.

God bless Sarah's arrogance.

50. She reminds me of Fargo.
And while it isn't even in my top 5 favorite Coen Brothers movies, it's still a Coen Brothers movie, which makes it pretty good at worst.

That's honestly the best I can do. She reminds me of a movie I kind of like. That's pretty sad.

53. 1. She's hot 2. She reads a prepared speech well
1. I admit it. I find her hot. I've always had this fantasy about making out with a wretchedly conservative but hot republican woman. I imagine it as sort of like a scene from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

2. I was watching her read a prepared speech on TV. I realize she's dumb as a sack of bricks and can't say three words extemporaneously, but she's pretty good at reading a prepared speech.

63. Here is something to like about her
She is clearly trying to set-up a run for president in 2012. Can you think of anything better for us? Even right now with just two months in the public eye, few interviews which have all been disasters, and at the bottom of the ticket she is already doing awful - dragging down McCain more than Bush is! She has a NEGATIVE FAVORABILITY RATING. It will only get worse when she's actually at the top of the ticket and can't avoid talking about the issues or answering real questions. With barely any vetting yet we've seen so many scandals and radical things she's been involved in, only more will be dug up in the years to come. This lady is HATED. Make no mistake about it, the GOP and the media keeps with this narrative about how she has energized the base and has a certain charisma which is all crap. She didn't energize the base, she energized evangelicals - and not all of them, just the psycho radical ones. They keep talking about the bump in the polls following the convention which was crap, it lasted about a week which is typical for any convention bump, Obama has been leading this race before that and after that as expected. His lead has gotten bigger not just because of McCain's failures but because of Palin. A woman running for President needs to get the support of women, but the majority of women don't support her. WE SHOULD PRAY THAT THE GOP NOMINATES HER FOR 2012. It will be the easiest re-election in history. So that's what I like about Sarah Palin, she is dumb enough to actually think she can win a Presidential election even though she's dragging down support from the bottom of the ticket in this election.

Even if she had never spent a second of her life in politics, I would still find her to be a complete and ignorant asshole who is devoid of having any empathy for any living creature other than herself. Plus, I wouldn't be able to put up with her incredibly annoying voice and goofy mannerisms that reek of such a juvenile nature.

As for empathy, I don't know that (though I suspect you're right). As for her accent, I find it funny; and I suspect she's not as goofy as she comes off...I think the "baracuda" nick-name is more the real her. And I tend to like strong-willed women.

But this all theoretical. I could never get past our differences on politics and religion!

82. There are far more objectionable aspects of Palin other than voice and looks (which
I'm neutral on). She's Bush on steroids...even more arrogant and decisive despite an even lower level of knowledge and experience. She's downright scary in the manner of a cross between Bush and James Dobson and Don Quixote. She knows exactly what's good for all of us as a nation and for each one of us as individuals. She depends on ideology, not facts, truth, or laws. As a pure ideologue, she will advance the "ends justifies the means" style of governing, as she is doing on the campaign trail.

I'm not sure she's as selfish and self-centered and weak as Bush is...she's a willing servant to the Cheney vision and cause and that makes her doubly scary.

110. Hold the grammy
Lyrics to Don't Cry For Me Achorage

It won't be easy
You'll think I’m strange
When I try to explain how I think
That I still need your votes
After all of the lies
You won't believe me
All you will see
Is a pol you once knew
Although she's dressed up by Saks
At sixes and sevens with you

I had to let it happen
I had to go rogue
Couldn't stay all my life under his heel
Looking out of the bus
Staying out of the sun
So I chose rogue
Running around trying everything new
But nothing impressed you at all
I never expected it too

Don't cry for me Anchorage
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad insistence
I’m not ready
You kept your distance

And as for power and as for abuse
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world
They were all I desired
The librul media
They're not the suckers
They promise to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you vote 2012 for me

Don't cry for me Anchorage

Don't cry for me Anchorage
The truth is I never left you
All through my rallies
My mad insistence
I’m not ready
Don't keep your distance

Have I said too much?
There's nothing more I can think of to lie to you
But all you have to do
Is vote for me to know
That every lie, big and small, is untrue.
