Obama Outraises McCain In Utah 7-to-1 Since September

Living dangerously in Utah

When I visited the family in Utah over Labor Day I noticed a preponderance of Obama yard signs, including this one in my parent’s yard. My Dad also noted that the local Democratic Party HQ had “LDS for Obama” pins, which must be some kind of first. There were certainly never any “LDS for Kerry” pins (that I was aware of) four years ago.

The Salt Lake Tribune has a county-by-county Obama donation comparison map. I’m from Cache County, the slightly blue county in the north there.

1. I'm not going to believe this even if it's true
It would mean he has a chance at winning Utah. Which is very, very strange.

2. Utah won't go blue, trust me, but mormons are mad McCain didn't pick Romney
so the support here for Palin is not as strong as you would expect.

I know many mormons who say they are just not going to vote this year.

But going in with a 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 lead over dems means dems won't win here. I'd LOVE to keep it 60-40.

There hasn't been a poll here since 9-10 so we don't really know but then it was 64-32
