"I think that he is really just a very obnoxious person."

That was my 87-year-old grandpa, on Rush Limbaugh.

I just got off the phone with him -- a 20 minute conversation in which I barely got a word in edgewise because he was talking about the latest poll numbers out of Pennsylvania, the Colin Powell endorsement, the reverse Bradley effect, the numbers of new registered voters in urban areas... I think he might be more obsessed than I am, LOL!

It is truly an amazing thing to see his excitement about Obama. He saw the Depression, served in WWII, voted for JFK -- he has wisdom and experience I can only hope to attain someday. He has been utterly despairing about the state of our country over the last eight years. There are many, many things that are wonderful about Barack Obama. But on a personal note, were I ever to meet him, I would just want to say "Thank you. Thank you for restoring an old man's faith in his country."

1. Young and old alike have been inspired by Obama. My 17 year old son has went door to door and...
worked the phones. My 23 year old son and by 20 year old son will also be voting for Obama.

Counting my wife and I that is 4 Obama votes in my house.

3. That's a wonderful story!

Every day on a walk I do around town, I cross paths with a 72-year-old man who has recently suffered a stroke. We always stop for a few minutes to talk politics, but he can't read since his stroke so I fill him in on things from DU and the newspapers. This campaign has given him new hope too ~ he was so happy the day he found his way to the campaign office to get a button!

11. The old people will vote for McCain is simply ignorant blathering
Pompous pundits who like to hear themselves bloviate in a sleep inducing monotone of endless repetition of what they said the last 10 elections. They're brains are cobweb encrusted fossilized petrified gray matter way past their end date. My 83 year old mother just voted for Obama and against prop 8 in her absentee ballot here in California.
