Holy fucking shit!! Have you looked at the electoral map recently
Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 04:37 PM by Dark

375 votes! Plus Montana, Georgia and N. Dakota as the battleground states!

Contrast that with where Kerry was in 2004:

Look at all that blue!

Grandpa's goin DOWN!

2. Based on polling this weekend, we may see AZ go pink by week's end
Regardless, it's refreshing to see so much blue on the map so close to election day.

5. The fact that Indiana alone is not RED is telling
NC too

Obama simply forced the issue there AND, if we remember, Dems picked up 3 House seats-each- in Indiana and Kentucky in 2006.

Nice comparison. A little disappointing to see Kerry had WV more than Barack does, but Barack makes up for it with Florida and Ohio. And look @ that Indiana change.

20. I'm keeping my fingers crossed
I live in Louisiana. Neither candidate campaigns here because it's presumed to be a gimmie for McCain. I hope like hell Obama carries my state. He doesn't NEED my state, or any red state to win (do the math) but I would gain so much satisfaction from it.

25. Though Mississippi will probably never go blue
the republicans internal pollings must have them frightened, the special interests negative campaigning is going full tilt and Thad Cochran is running a campaign ad (narrated by Fred Thompson), I can't recall the last time Cochran spent money on campaign ads.

34. Yeah, it's like, if you give African-Americans a reason to vote...
they will vote.

About time the Democrats fielded someone that inspires this kind of turnout. Hope they've learned their damn lesson.

23. I agree with the excitement of your post, but by the same token, the first 3 words
do lend to some uncomfortable mental images. Religion, sex, and poop. And they certainly don't belong in the same breath, as it were. But kudos on the exuberance.

27. What's up with Arkansas?

It's about the only state that's gone in the Republican direction (from toss-up to dark red)... Well AZ went light to dark red, but that makes sense since McCain's from there...

28. I really think we have a great chance of turning...
Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, West Virginia, Georgia and Arizona blue as well. We can't give up though... with all the voter fraud and intimidation we can't let up one iota. We need this election and we need it by a huge majority.

Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 06:08 PM by quakerboy
I dunno. I get bored. When the "can we win" question is so clear, I start thinking of other things.

Did you know that it is possible to win the electoral college with only 11 states(I'm pretty sure thats the smallest number possible)?

Interesting, the more so when you realize Obama is polling ahead in all but 2 of those 11.

That also Means it is possible to loose while still winning in 39 states.

36. The last week it was a swing state and Gore and Cheney made last min visits
and the next day it was blue - I guess the contrast of the two woke a few people up. PLUS - there was word that the polling included many military who's votes were to be actually cast absentee in other states.

I want Florida's beautiful blue outline to be solid and Georgia's pink outline to be blue.

Think we can get that done by Friday?
