Anyone catch Chuckie T's comment about AA turnout in the South at 90%
Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 03:14 PM by Perky
From Huffington Post

Appearing on Meet the Press, NBC's Chuck Todd noted that early voting is "through the roof," and that turnout is threatening John McCain even in states that lean his way, including Georgia and North Carolina. Turnout among African-Americans might be "somewhere between 95 and 100 percent in some of these states," he noted, upturning some red-leaning southern states. According to Todd, GOP strategists are now asking, "Is South Carolina now in single digits? What's going on in Mississippi?"

Todd also said that Obama has built enough strength in other states that he can likely lose Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio and still get to 270 electoral votes.

2. Well, as of late, NC hasn't been leaning McCain's way...
but the point is well taken.

Black turn out may be underestimated by many of the pollsters.

3. Mississippi is an interesting state.

Because there is a strong possibility blacks make up 40% or more of the vote next Tuesday. In 2004, Bush carried the state 60-40, while Kerry won the black vote 90-10 (they made up about 34% of the electorate). Kerry also only managed 14% of the white vote there. Now let's say the black vote is above 40% and Obama wins it 95-5 or even greater, if he could get 20-30% of the white vote, he'd carry that state. If the black vote is 50% or more and he wins most of it, he'll carry Mississippi.

4. I doubt Black turnout hits 50% in Mississippi
But definently over 40%...which puts Obama in a very favorable position.

5. We are DEFINITELY not safe without PA. If we lose PA it means there was a shift against us
that will be felt in other states.

6. Where the hell did you come up with this?
Every PA poll has had a double digit lead for several weeks. No one can find the Loch Ness Monster "internal" that proclaimed a 2 point lead.
You are right in that we wouldn't be safe without PA. But there is no current evidence that it will go red.

8. If you read the OP it is quoting somebody as saying we could do it without PA. I am responding to
that and that alone. I know we are way up there.

7. this is the key to a PV total that will crush any fraud talk by the RW...
with the possible exception of Jerome Corsi, who is already researching a book for Obama's reelection bid.
