2. I'd love for it to go down like that, unfortunately, it probably won't.
Obama isn't carrying Louisiana and I expect North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Florida and Indiana to be too close to call at first. Virginia will probably be called first, but the other states I don't see Obama winning by more than 3-4 points.

I'd love for him to crack 400 electoral votes, but that's about as unlikely as McCain hitting 270 on election day.

6. It probably wont happen exactly that way
But It will happen! I know Obama will win, but I really believe he's going to win this by 3-4 touchdowns.

If we do our job, it'll happen.

17. I'm looking forward to watch BBCs coverage
The Beeb does an excellent job with elections. I'm looking forward to their coverage of this Election Night, and a possible 2009 or 2010 vote in the UK.

Although it won't be the same without Peter Snow.

If 70 million pulled the lever for Obama...I'd think he'll get a lot more than 50% of the total.

I tie it to when they projected Iowa for Obama. It felt so historic, and the music just added so much to it

22. a few items
First, where is the live Colbert/Stewart coverage in your lineup?

Idaho? Really? I think not. That passes positive thinking and moves into the same kind of mania that has the Puma crowd thinking that Obama will lose California.

Joe the plumber seems to be a libertarian, and not a very bright one. Plus, as I recall, he never bothered to register to vote.

26. I prefer the following short (but realistic) version
Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 04:24 PM by sanfo
Expected from NPR, in my case:

8 pm: An hour after polls closed, VIRGINIA is projected for Obama. INDIANA is still too close to call. Polls closed at 7:30 in OHIO and NORTH CAROLINA, none have been called yet but Obama is leading in both. The polls have just closed in PENNSYLVANIA and the networks immediately called it for Obama.

Meaning: it's over! McCain can't hope to win if he loses Virginia.. even if he manages to pull off some of these too-close-to-call states. The only reason to stay up is to see how big the LANDSLIDE is.

Night-night. I'll sleep well. I'll catch Obama's victory speech and learn if ALASKA gives the Democrats a 60-vote Senate tomorrow.

Poll closing times from http://www.270towin.com/closing.php
