AP Calls its Opinions "Accountability Journalism"
We've been wondering for awhile what the hell is going on with the AP. Straight facts just don't compete with all the editorializing found everywhere else, apparently. So rather than strengthen their niche, they decided to get "edgy" and call it "accountability journalism."

Their "occasional" opinion pieces have seemed to leak over to their supposedly straight news stories for years, though. And I for one don't care about the opinions of Ron Fournier and Nedra Pickler.

Anyway, the Post discusses the AP's "new boldness" today:

1. Unbiased journalism
"Senator Biden, Senator Obama proposes flying pink elephants with Lenin beards taped to their faces be given to every child in an effort to make them gay. Acorn supported this during their now infamous Communist ho-down in Boston this year... How do you respond(blank stare)?"

(copied from an Orlando Sentinel blog)

3. ill give them some credit... they've said some really aptly harsh things about palin
and mccain.

there have been more than a handful of extremely "editorial" style AP wires regarding the mccain/palin campaign, especially about palin.
