*IMPORTANT* Do you live in Arizona? Do you know anyone who does?
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 10:49 PM by AZBlue
PLEASE vote on or before November 4th!
PLEASE encourage any registered voter in Arizona to vote!
(well, if they are an Obama supporter - if not, encourage them not to vote, LOL)

Obama is up in Arizona!
But, the fear is that so many people everywhere assume Arizona will go to McCain and Obama supporters may stay home thinking that there's no point in their voting! We need every single Obama supporter making sure they vote (and we can vote early here in AZ - if you or they need info on how, just PM me).
YES WE CAN WIN ARZIONA FOR OBAMA!

Imagine their faces on MSNBC or CNN when they announce that Obama won Arizona. And then imagine their faces on Fox!

From DailyKos:
Myers Research (D) & Grove Insight (D). 10/23-24. Likely voters. MoE 4% (No trend lines)

Likely voters :
McCain (R) 44
Obama (D) 40

Early voters (34% of the sample):
McCain (R) 46
Obama (D) 47

The sample was 40 percent Republican, 33 Democratic, and 26 percent independent. ASU has its own survey coming Monday, and they've hinted at similar results.

1. WOW! That looks promising!
If AZ goes blue I would absolutely jump for joy. I *do* know somebody there, but she has turned into a RW freep and there is nothing I would love better than to see her state go for Obama. :bounce:

Everyone tells me "Obama can't win Arizona", and yet I don't care.

I'd at least like to try before writing it off.

I know about 10-15 people who are definitely voting for Obama in the Phoenix area.

It would be great if she does so. It would certainly create press the McCain campaign can't afford.

My family have been receiving emails from me for over a year. Expanded the list to nieces and nephews last month. Only one hold out left. Unfortunately my in laws are in the never to be saved column. Friends I have left there are all big Obama supporters, thanks for the heads up though, one friend is very active so I will place a call tomorrow and see if any help is needed for next weekend. I have a question about early voting. Can you go to "any" of the early voting sites?
Does each site have the individual precinct ballots?
Is DL enough or do you need to bring voter reg. card to early voting site?
Thanks!

37. You can go to any of the satellite offices - which county are you in?
Go to one of the offices in your county and they will look up your information and print out your ballot for you, based upon your location (so it will include all your local info - pretty amazing really!). You can find county sites here: http://www.azsos.gov/election/County.htm

The ID rules are the same as if you waited until Nov. 4th to vote, so your DL should be fine. More info is here: http://www.azsos.gov/election/Prop_200/poll_identification.htm

Happy Voting! :D

My mother just called tonight from Tempe to let me know that she already voted and as usual we got to talking about politics...

My mother swears McCain is going to lose Arizona. I showed her a recent poll from Rasmussen with McCain very ahead...her response..."I don't believe it...I'm telling you, he's going to lose Arizona. He's in big trouble here."

Mom also reports that signs are being stolen "all over the place, like crazy."

Sadly my folks...goldwater republicans won't vote for obama, but they dont' like McCain either.

Arizona was slammed by the housing prices and the 401k's are hitting the retirement people hard.

My mom told me of a 68 year old lady that was set to live off her 401k and ss and now has to try to find a job to keep her home.

Change could come to AZ too...

He won't go to the "party" - he will only address a small group of reporters outside on the lawn and his comments will be shown inside the "party" through live feed.

Sounds to me like he knows he's going to lose nationally, now I bet he's seeing he may lose locally too.

Yes Obama is doing well here in Az. Obama has raised 5 times more here in Arizona than McCain and according to one ASU pollster Obama could come close to or even surpass McCain in AZ. I was able to be at the opening of the Obama HQ in Phoenix and 2000 or more was there for the event with a 1000 dropping by the day before that. The only bad part is we lost Jeff Farias at KPHX but with him doing a show on the internet at http://thejefffariasshow.com his voice is still out there. I also try to get Democratic candidates on my show also on the above link to try and further the turning AZ. blue.

56. More Obama stickers here.
I commute on the Phoenix freeways for about 10 hours each week. To amuse myself I tally the bumper stickers and Obama wins slightly every day and this is becoming more so. This is a far cry from four years ago when "W" stickers were everywhere you looked.

I swear, if Obama would do a campaign stop here he would seal the deal.

63. I'm in McCain's hometown...and there are Obama signs ALL over!!
Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 07:36 PM by Desertrose
I see VERY few McCain signs. Funny story- there was a big one put up along 89A near the McCain ranch...but it only went up when either McCain or Palin came.Pretty pathetic when they have to put their own signs up. Many folks are complaining that Obama signs were taken down during that same time period - must have been the same crew taking Obama signs down.. How embarrasing for John to have his "hometown" go for Obama.:P

I really really think we can turn AZ blue...and I just got this from some local Obama supporters....

“A statewide poll taken by Tucson-based Democratic pollsters Carol and Pete Zimmerman two weeks out from the election suggests McCain's lead over Obama falls within the margin of error: 43.5 percent to 41.5 percent, with 10 percent of likely Arizona voters undecided.”

Oh,and then there's this: "Could McCain Lose His Home State??" Sure wish Obama could make a visit here.....

Don't forget the rez will go Dem....after what McCain did to the Navajo, no way would they vote for him. Bastid.

DR

We've got 3 more Obama votes from here going in the mail tomorrow.:bounce:

71. I knew the tide was changing when I saw azcentral's poll results lately.
For months, any time azcentral (the online site of The Arizona Republic) asked about the Presidential race, the poll always favored McCain. Heavily.

But lately, it's been about tied, sometimes with Obama having a slight edge. Since IMO the Arizona Republic is our local version of Fox News, that's really something!

65. Doing all I can in the east Valley.
And as I posted in another thread - I haven't seen hardly any McPalin signs or bumperstickers around.
In 2004 there were Bush/Cheney signs everywhere.

I think it's a positive sign.

If Obama or Biden came to Phoenix - it could put them over the top.

78. Oh yes. They are voting thier asses off for McCain
We have had to ban political discussion amongst ourselves. And even still, they're being assholeish with smear emails and whatnot.

The good news is that I grew up in a split family, and my dads side are hardcore democrats, and they live closer to me anyways, so they get more visits.
