I'm a little concerned.
Should I root for the paleoPalinites to completely rule the GOP after this year, thus ensuring many more cycles of hilarity and Democratic rule (during which maybe we can actually get something liberal accomplished), or should I root for the economic conservatives to win out, thus ensuring somewhat less hilarity but a more sane opponent organization?

Decisions, decisions...

1. Any remaining sane Republicans should get together with libertarians

...and then we can have an adult conversation, while leaving the remaining Republican party to be a Christian nutjob asylum.

2. I'm also concerned...
...that Obama may decide to wear blue instead of black at his inauguration. (He looks better in black.)

6. I'm also concerned...
...that Obama can't seem to break 90% at Intrade. Why can't he really really REALLY seal the deal?

out of the party and into the Libertarian fold

4. There's too much danger involved with the paleoPalinites
I hope those nuts get removed from main stream politics all together. America needs a more civil tone to the electorate. It's getting out of control with this fringe group of fundies.

5. Hope for a third party
Of Centrist Republicans and Libertarians completely splitting from the Religious Right. It will split them in two.

10. Or the reverse, the religious ones go to the Constitutions party, which is
the home of some really theocratic people.

11. GPV
You make an excellent point! ;-) I had not even considered Constitution Party . . . hmm -

Either way - I think this win is going to shake the Republican party to its' core. Potentially leading to 16 years of Demcoratic Party rule of the WH.

7. The ones with a conscience and some sanity should form their own party
and forfeit what's left of the GOP to the morons.

9. Not that what we hope or root for will influence them, but I think you want econconservs to split
some portion of them sticking to the GOP's collapsed coalition, but the rest of them opting to deal with us, opting to follow our lead since they will get a better deal with us than with the outcast, flatearther, snake-handling woo-woos. The Crazies have topped out and can't get a ruling majority going anymore since enough independents and previously non-voting Dems and Xover Dems have finally realized you just can't let stupid and crazy people run your country without bringing down disasters on everyone.

It's better for us if the Sarah Palineolithic, global warming denying, flatearthing, tongue speaking, foetus fondling, gay hating science anathematizing woo-woos stay in control of the Republican Party. Hell, they've earned it, they should get to keep it!
