1. And the 2004 map is almost exactly how it happened.
Except flip Wisconsin and Colorado.

3. I don't think I paid much attention to state polls in 2004.
If I had, maybe I would've been more realistic about Kerry's chances.

That electoral count is almost like election night 2004. It ended up 286-251.

6. Anyone who saw the Ohio and Florida polls the night before the election knew it was an uphill battle
I know we like to pretend Kerry had leads in both states, but he did not. A few polls showed him leading, but the average of both polls showed Bush up in both.

The biggest indicator for me was Intrade.com, which showed Bush carrying both Ohio & Florida. I had hopes, knew it would be close, but in the end, I had a feeling Kerry would lose.

And yes, the results are nearly the same as the final outcome, just flip Wisconsin & Colorado (giving Kerry an extra EC vote and Bush one less).

4. Blue is a more restful color than red.
We need even more blue on that map.

5. Excellent! I needed that.
My team is losing the biggest game of the year today.

This helps. Thanks.

7. oddly, what's left in "red America" is the south and the mormons
Mormons only allowed black full church membership in 1974 when South American counties wouldn't let them build temples there and the boy scouts said they would refuse to allow church sponsorship of scout troops.

And the damned Mormons have through a ton of money into the gay marriage proposal in California.

I live in Utah and I was just getting to the point where I could live with them. I'm pretty sick of them right now.
