Passing of the torch planned: President Clinton and Senator Obama to hold first joint rally soon!!
The news keeps getting better this morning.

Can't wait for this. They should do it the same day that JSM campaigns with Arnold in Ohio to take the wind out of the sails of that event.

From Politico.

Obama plan joint appearance

Former President Bill Clinton and Senator Barack Obama will appear together "within the week," a source close to one of the men said.

Clinton sharply questioned Obama's credentials, on his wife's behalf, during the primary, and moved slowly toward a full-throated endorsement this summer. The two men met at Clinton's Harlem office, and Clinton has campaigned on Obama's behalf in Florida. Clinton also offered a ringing endorsement of the Democratic nominee at the party's Denver convention.

"Barack Obama is ready to lead America and restore American leadership in the world. Ready to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. Barack Obama is ready to be President of the United States," Clinton said in Denver.

But the planned appearance this week -- the source wouldn't say where -- will be their first appearance on the stump together. It's an opportunity to stage another symbolic passing of the party's torch, and to command media attention on one of the dwindling number of days left in the campaign.

So we have the 2 minute Obama TV ad this morning, the upcoming 30 minute primetime special, Obama rallying with President Clinton next week and Obama appearing on SNL next Saturday night!!

This is perfect. Shock and awe next week and that's what we need to ensure that the final nail is hamnmered into JSM's political coffin.

1. Hmmm. Location thoughts....
Philadelphia/Pittsburgh?

Charlotte/Raleigh, NC?

Cleveland/Cincinnatti/Columbus?

Atlanta?

Richmond, VA?

I'm thinking they will want to boost a Dem Senate candidate as well as Obama, so I'm going with Atlanta or one of the NC cities.

3. What?!!!
:wow:

I am SO happy to see the Clintons and the Obamas together, and this would clinch the Clintons' support for Obama.

4. Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton passed whatever torch they had to pass at the DN Con-
vention, as it should be. The nomination put the torch squarely in the hands of Barack Obama and he has been the head of the Democratic Party since then. That's how it goes every four or eight years. Bill Clinton is campaigning for the torchbearer.

5. A 'joint' rally sounds like something liberals get accused of.
