Did Sarah get her money's worth from her make-up artist? I'm not
very fashion savvy, and I know that make-up trends vary from place to place. For example, I think make-up tends to be more of a requirement in New York City than it is Upstate, and I think Upstate tends to go for a more subdued look. Still, this seems kind of amateurish:

Was the make-up artist a secret Democrat? Was she forced to give Sarah the same look Sarah's always used?

1. A really good make-up artist...
will make it appear like you're not wearing make up. It looks like Palin probably has really good skin, and doesn't need all that spackle. It looks really terrible.

2. She's definitely in Tammy Faye territory. Spackle is right!
The first rule of a makeup artist should be to blend the damned foundation at the jawline. Both Sarah and Cindy have big problems with this. Hello? Kleenex and a little spit works wonders!

Definitely not getting her money's worth.

3. Her blush causes me to have flashbacks to my HS proms in the 80's . . .
A couple of giant shoulder pads and the look would be complete.

4. I live in NYC
Her makeup is very garish .. I don't
know anyone that wears make-up like that.

5. Scanned through that slide show-
Her pores are going to be screaming for mercy here shortly.

I asked hubby if I could post a pic of a "home done" makeup job from when we were taking pictures here. He said ok- but I chickened out.

My point being, I'd do her makeup for that amount of money ...and it would look better. Makeup should be LIGHT, and just enough to enhance what you have. Not spackle your face. Fluorescent lights wash you out some, and tend to highlight things like blush lines. That's why a cream base blush is best. It blends without leaving it look like someone slapped you.

6. I thought Sarah looked best when she first surfaced as McC's VP....She was....
....kinda thrown together, and less staged. It looked good, IMO. I do not like her new hairdo. I liked the somewhat messy updo. I do like her new glasses.

Now, having said that as if my opinon matters, I confess to being a bag lady myself.

8. OMG. What a humiliation for her.

If anyone deserves it, it is she.

If the object is to make her look older, mission accomplished.

9. Whoever works on her
is used to preparing models for photo shoots and runways has no idea how to present somebody in real life. She looks like a clown.

10. I think you're on to something there - I assume that make-up done for television
has to be a lot heavier than make-up done for real life.

12. Sure. She'd look great with stage lighting
in a darkened theatre. Up close outdoors not so much. I keep expecting one of her false eyelashes to fall off and scare somebody.

11. She really doesn't look like herself now,
but then that kind of goes with everything else about this "new" Sarah Palin. People here have been speculating whether the old Sarah we knew was the real one or whether this monster we see now was lurking there under the surface all along. I think the general consensus now is that Alaskans were "played," and that national prominence (using typical Republican tactics) was her goal all along.

13. No, she didn't. I think her makeup looked better before when she was doing
it herself.

15. Are those eyelash extensions in the 5th picture?
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 12:53 PM by Truth Hurts A Lot
That's the only decent thing they did for her... very natural looking as far as fake eyelashes go.
