The last week and the tell-tale signs of how Obama is doing--you don't need the polls
If Obama is continuing to do well he will keep his schedule of just campaigning in "red" states as his campaign announced earlier this week (states like CO, NV, NC, VA, IN and even venturing as the campaign suggested into a state like GA).

But if Obama suddenly in the last days goes into Pennsylvania, Iowa or some other state currently considered strong for him then we can assume that the campaign has detected some narrowing of the gap in those states.

It doesn't mean that Obama would lose it's just a case of nipping things in the bud.

1. Obama will be at Widener University in PA Tuesday
at 10 am for a rally.

Maybe he is there to help Joe Sestak and to encourage turnout in Chester and in Delaware County.

2. PA will continue to get attention paid to it, mainly because of it
having the national spotlight shining on it right now.

4. Overall, I think you're right. PA is on a "maintenance plan." You can't love 'em and leave 'em...

Team McCain has been peeing on hydrants all over that state. Obama has to visit to keep it from sliding.

But yeah, other than the odd moment to keep the momentum, he'll keep jabbing at those red states, because he only needs one or two. He's wearing McCain down, keeping him guessing, and using up his resources.

I think this campaign will become a model that gets analyzed in the future and used as an example of how to execute a political Desert Storm.

5. You are exactly right.
Besides there are coattail issues. Barack would really, really like 60 in the Senate.
