Lieberman on Palin: 'Thank G-d, she's not gonna have to be president from day one...'
Hey, Holy Joe! We know what you meant, you sanctimonious prig. But that's not what you said. It sounds like you agree with the rest of us, asshole. Thank g-d she's not gonna have to be president! Amen, brother Joe!

WASHINGTON — Sen. Joe Lieberman on Friday skirted a question on whether vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is ready from day one to be president, saying "thank God" she won't have to be.

Lieberman, I-Conn., who has helped prep the Alaska governor on foreign policy issues, said his pal and GOP presidential nominee, John McCain, is in good health.

"Thank God, she's not gonna have to be president from day one, because McCain's going to be alive and well," Lieberman said in a conference call with reporters.

Lieberman said he was confident that Palin, whose foreign policy background has been questioned by Democrats, could step in and handle the chief executive's job.

"If, God forbid, an accident occurs or something of that kind, she'll be ready," Lieberman said. "She's had executive experience. She's smart and she will have had on-the-job training."

Lieberman added that if Democrat Barack Obama wins the White House, he would support his presidency...

6. Only have to put up with that for 2 years, then a Dem will be elected.
And Gov. Rell is barely a Republican.

7. I think Joe is bitter about McCain saying Palin is the most qualified VP candidate in a long time.

What about Lieberman circa 2000? Heh. I bet anything he's pissed and this is his passive-aggressive way of lashing out.

10. You talk about yer fading political prospects...
Joe Lieberman's instincts for what's happening have been less than stellar.

He thought he would be a leading contender for his party's 2004 nomination but was upended. He couldn't compete in Iowa and was whomped pretty good in New Hampshire. "Joementum" never seemed to quite catch fire that year and he faded from the headlines.

His own state's Democrats nominated Ned Lamont in 2006. Lieberman won with some independent and a significant % of Republican support to retain his seat. But Connecticut Democrats had spoken.

Add in the public embrace of George W. Bush and the repeated pro-Bush shilling Joe's done on FOX and everywhere else.

Add in the work for McCain/Palin in this election.

I suppose if McCain wins Joe will look a lot smarter than he does now but the recent polling suggests that that Cabinet post he would have gotten under McCain is not going to materialize.

11. It only takes a Palin-fundie crackpot's crack shot to change the leadership.
Even some Republicans are worried that she'd be too close as it is. Democrats and some Republicans don't do "stupid".
