The Arlanta Journal-Constitution has an opinion piece by Jay Bookman talking about
"about the eagerness and even glee with which some in the right-wing blogosphere jumped on that story and immediately claimed it as proof of their worst nightmares coming true."The comments in response are amazing and might easily be mistaken as having come from freeperville but lets look at a few of the blog comments to which Bookman refers:
Dan Riehl at riehlworldview.com posted under the headline “Thugs for change,” claiming that “Obama’s run his campaign just like a street thug out of Chicago. Now we get to see what some of his worst supporters are like.”
Noel Sheppard at newsbusters.org chastized AP for daring to be skeptical of the initial report. Most of all, he wanted to know why the AP didn’t report that the alleged perp was black. How dare they exclude a detail that had no bearing whatsoever on the alleged crime!!
Josh Painter at redstate.com blamed the attack on Barack Obama, suggesting an “Obama thugocracy” was coming: When Obama “urged his supporters to get in their face, did it not occur to him that some of his more deranged followers might take him literally?” Painter asked.
He was echoed by fellow redstater Erick Erickson, who wrote: “Hey! The dude was just doing what The One asked him to. Full pardon on January 21st.”
There are more but as a sampling I think you get the idea.
Now lets sample the comments page (of which there are 143 as of this writing:

If Obama were on the ballot uncontested I would write in a candidate… Mickey Mouse, perhaps… before I would ever check the box next to his name. Call me selfish, I couldn’t care less, but my family and I come first in my book, and I revile the idea of having someone tell me that I am too successful, and that I need to “share” my success with those that did not achieve their own. However, (back to the point) being that I live in a diverse intown neighborhood, my neighbors and I have already acquired a stack of Obama signs to stick in our yards in the event he wins the election. We have already been forewarned that there may be trouble, and if we appear to be “supporters” our homes/belongings should be spared. I can’t believe this is even a concern.

I would never mess with someone elses car just because they had an Obama sticker on it - I just wouldn’t let my children play with their children - and I use it as a educational tool for them - I say look, those are the people who want to steal all the money daddy is trying to save so you can go to Stanford - don’t worry, they will try and steal your money as well - fortunately, my kids understand this and wouldn’t play with an Obama supporters kids anyway

I am at fault for believing this young lady’s account, my bad, I should have remembered that most of America’s young adults have been indoctrinated by the public school system and are not clear, well balanced thinkers.
They are backing Oblahma quite heavily, after all.
And as far as what kookman is saying, that is total nonsense.
Most of these former “Conservative” Oblahma backers have allowed themselves to be bullied into thinking they are racists and are coming out for him on the basis of white guilt.
Plain and simple.
They are mau mauing themselves, hahaha.
How else could you ignore the past associations and policies of a hard core left wing America hating baby killer like this…………biting my tongue, Oblahma?
You fell for the con job, suckers.

As a matter of fact, from here on out, when ever the Oblahma contigency doesn’t get it’s way, it will call it’s little lapdogs “racists” and send them off in a fit of white guilt to do their bidding.
It worked the first time.
Had enough, read more at the AJC link above.
