I just don't trust this country
Never mind election fraud, but I just don't trust this country to vote against a member of the establishment -- and old white guy whose family roots are early American and slave owners. I don't trust this nation to vote for a black man, whose roots are far more worldly, thinking is profound, and views are progressive. I don't trust this nation to turn against years of Reaganism that went largely unchallenged for a generation and have been accepted for the most part as the norm. I don't trust this country to have the courage to elect Obama, even though he really would deliver peace and prosperity. I pray and hope he wins and wins big, but I've been so disillusioned by this country for so long I'm not convinced that Obama will win. Do others feel like I do? Do others sense this country is really ready to leave Reagan behind?

1. We didn't vote in Bush either time.

If Obama doesn't win, the election will have been stolen. Reagan and Bush 1 were mistakes but we'd have followed Clinton with eight years of Gore. We'd have been an entirely different country. The American people are the primary victims in this (aside from the people of Iraq) -- not the villains.

I trust and love my country. The neocon government that has taken it over in a coup, that's another matter.

2. I'm wondering how old you are.
If you can't remember much before Reagan, I can easily understand your cynicism. For those of us who remember this country at it's best, it isn't so hard to believe we can be at our best again.

4. all of these situations coming together at this time -
our common spirit knows that society is at the eve of its destruction, that the gods of greed have been exposed. Those left behind because they simply cannot follow the greater good will slowly get in tune with the new rythm or will no doubt desperately seek new gods. Let them, when confronted do not back down, but never strike first.

7. Everything I have seen and heard indicates we are entering a new phase of American Poltiics....
That includes electing a black man with an arabaic sounding name. Color and creed are about to be thrown out in America. If you are hard working, educated, and intelligent you can become President. Period.
