How should Team-Obama and Dems respond to the last-ditch message of the GOP which is:

"If you elect Obama and a Dem congress, you will be giving them ALL the power and you MUST have some balance in the system. You can not give them EVERYTHING. There must be a 'circuit breaker' or else checks and balances goes out the window. That would be DANGEROUS FOR AMERICA. We just can't have that."

This is what they started with today, and it is what GOP strategists like Mike Murphy have been urging them to do. So get ready to hear it BIGTIME in the final days. How should our side resond.
I say just keep reminding America that we have done it the GOP for a lllllllllong time now, and it is time a MAJOR, FUNDAMENTAL change in America. Time for a tidal shift in economic theory. Tidal shift in priorities. Tidal shift from "trickle down" to "bottom up" ! Mantra CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE !
We've tried it their way. Now it's time for a major NEW DIRECTION.

Just say that what the GOP is asking you is to allow them to be obstructionists, to impede the ability of the government to do the important work that needs to be done in order to set this country aright. That the U.S. can't afford another four years of ineffective, misguided government. That only an Obama administration can LEAD the country to a more prosperous, secure future, while the GOP only has plans to fight tooth and nail to defend their misguided ideology, regardless of the real-world effect on the American people... and haven't we had enough of that?

4. The US is in desperate need of real change.

Americans want Democrats to do something about the mess left by George W. Bush and the Bush league GOP lapdog Congress that gave him a blank check during most of these past disasterous 7 years and 9 months. So voters need to give us a fair chance to do exactly that by electing Obama as President, increasing the Democratic majority in the House, and giving us a 60 seat majority in the Senate.

Balance was a casualty of the Bush administration and it can not be restored if Republicans are in a position to stonewall every Democratic initiative, in order to perpetuate their failed rightwing ideologies.
