who would have guessed that it would take a nobody college student
on the wrong side of history to turn the discussion of race in the first presidential general election to feature an African-American candidate in favor of the black guy?

God, I love this country. :D

1. That stunt really screwed the Republican Party.
She's made the whole lot out to be both racist and stupid. A "large black guy" beat her up and carved a backwards "B" in her face. And carved it so well that it will heal completely and not leave a scar. The "large black guy" should have been a surgeon instead of a mugger. And she thought that the police would be stupid enough to buy her story.

She's put the final nail in the Republican coffin. They wanted SO much for this story to be true, but in the end, even Michelle Malkin had to call BS. Utterly damaging to her cause. Instant Karma.

Has that girl never heard of Susan Smith? Now she has ruined her life over an election. I cannot believe how people act. I am stunned.

4. Also, she was a major volunteer for the...
McCain campaign.

She traveled to other states and was blogging up a storm.

She was very involved, and obviously wanted McCain to win.

And look what she did to them. Geez. I hope someone is keeping an eye on
her. The weight of what she did must hang on her like a giant boulder.

Man...it's nuts.

9. Even more interesting...
I thought she was a volunteer.

Geez, does that campaign have anyone who just works for McCain out of the
goodness of their heart and support of the candidate?

18. With Republicans, it's all about the money.

The R's have proudly shown that they are the "it's all about me" party. Pocketbooks and control are all they have ever been interested in. They are about to be exiled into the wilderness, and they're going WAY nuts. That's what you get for swinging so far right, when most of the country is in the middle.

What's that old saying?

"You can fool all of the people some of the time, and you can fool some of the people ALL of the time. But you can't fool ALL of the people ALL of the time".

23. wasn't the guy that hatched the purple bandaid scheme the founder of that group?
I swear that was where Rove got his start. They are ALSO the ones that did the recent scam pretending to be plumbers/ordinary americans protesting Obama.

Hoisted by their own petard, they were.

We should hope for nothing better than for Sarah (and all her oddly-named children after her) to be the standard bearer for the GOP for decades to come. Shit, get the dippy creationist more airtime, now! :D

16. Welcome to 2008, it's not 1960's America anymore - Sorry GOP
Sorry GOP, your old divisive tricks just don't have the same punch as a whole generation of young Americans who were raised to be tolerant and *gasp* accept other cultures equally come of age. Not only that, the country is in chaos and you offer nothing of substance to help assuage the anguish of millions of Americans.

It's time to tear down the GOP house and cast them to the fringe of our society. But they'll get the reap the benefits of our successes, because thats the way we work - for ALL Americans.

30. Obama campaign was on top of this: excerpt from TPM story
"The claims to KDKA from the McCain campaign were included in an early story that ran late yesterday on KDKA's Web site. The paragraphs containing these assertions were quickly removed from the story after the Obama campaign privately complained that KDKA was letting the McCain campaign spin a racially-charged version of the story before the facts had been established, according to two sources familiar with the discussions."

31. Holy fucking shit, this election has been the most awesome dramafest EVER
Fuck ordinary TV. Just the total fucktardedness of politics is even better than the scriptedness of reality TV or any sort of drama, comedy or whatever that TV could offer.

WTF is up with this year? Obama's the one isle of sanity in all of this batshit insanity!
