Statement by College Republicans regarding Ashley Todd:
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/10/24/todd-he-fondled-me-too/

“When Ms. Todd initially contacted us claiming to have been attacked our first reaction was obviously to be concerned for her safety. We are as upset as anyone to learn of her deceit, Ashley must take full responsibility for her actions.” - Ashley Barbera, Communications Director

“We have terminated her effective today. Obviously, we had know idea she was making this story up.” - Ethan Eilon

More at Wired:

http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/2008/10/college-republi.html

Todd was one of the members of a group called 50 College Republican who have been publicizing their activities through a blog and Twitter feed on a web site called "Life in the Field." The volunteers' tweets carried the hashtag "#litf08."

On Friday, commenters started using the tag to broadcast their disgust, causing the sarcastic tweets to be automatically displayed on the Republican site.

"Anyone know which Rove protege is responsible for #litf08? Because they lack the execution skills of the man himself," tweeted Matt Browner-Hamlin, a former blogger for Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn.'s presidential campaign.

"Hmm, it was an okay Obama frame-job, just a few inconsistencies snagged you," wrote another tweeter. "Overall I'd give you a 'B'.

"Do 50 College Republicans try this kind of stunt often?" asked Adamuu.

On that last question, Ethan Eilon, executive director of the College Republicans, says the group had "no idea that was making this story up." He forwarded a statement from the communications director.

"When Ms. Todd initially contacted us claiming to have been attacked, our first reaction was obviously to be concerned for her safety," said Ashley Barbera in a statement. "We are as upset as anyone to learn of her deceit. Ashley must take full responsibility for her actions."

I thought someone was having fun with PhotoShop. Then I realized this was supposedly the real image of the "victim."

It was such a bad job. How could anyone NOT have doubts about her weak-ass story?

32. Wonder if they can take this back?
There were "Executive college republicans" involved..
and someone had a thread on one of them being involved with Joe the Plant guy.

"Update VII: I spoke with two executives at the College Republicans on the record about this story. Charlie Smith, the National Chair, and Ethan Eilon, the Executive Director, both say the photo is legitimate and that it came from Ashley Todd, the victim in this case. The attack began at 8:50 pm ET and Ashley called the police at 9:30 PM ET. Initially, she was robbed, ran away after the robbery, and the robber followed her to her car. At that point, he became enraged at the bumper sticker and began beating her and scratched the ‘B’ into her face. Ashley went to the hospital early this morning after initially refusing medical attention last night, and had an MRI and/or a CAT scan. Doctors believe her cheek will heal fully."
