1. Well, I'm certainly glad they *only now* disclosed that.
It's not like that would have been useful to know when they first reported it.

2. THEY should have known it.
It's a stain on MSNBC that they rushed this story. If KO does do a "worst person", he should point a few fingers at his own network.

3. Of what type? I won't believe that she did this because she
'mentally ill' until I hear a dx.

Depression? Anxiety? BUllshit. That doesn't make someone behave like a racist POS like this person.

30. As soon as this story broke I thought she sounded like someone
with histrionic personality disorder or borderline personality disorder based on the incident and youtube videos she has made. Of course I'm just speculating, but this would explain the negative attention seeking behavior. Could also explain an irrational fear of African-Americans.

4. Maybe they need to wait until thats proven as a fact
Edited on Fri Oct-24-08 01:43 PM by TornadoTN
It's easy to just say you have mental problems and use it as an excuse. Maybe they should have waited yesterday before they all had a spontaneous orgasm over it.

CALL MSNBC and demand that this not simply be swept under the rug.

I'm thinking of calling a few "news" networks to tell them that there's an alien spaceship parked in my backyard just to see how far it gets.

How funny is it that Kevin on MSNBC is like "How does a story like this get out, when there were clearly problems with the story from the beginning?" On MSNBC, Kevin! They broke this news yesterday without checking the details...haha, the local PA person talking about Drudge.

9. The reporter said specifically that it was Drudge who got it out there.
That it was leaked to Drudge.

The Pittsburgh reporter said that she has been around a long time and they wanted to wait with this story because it didn't seem right.

disorder, ADHD (though this is more rare), and dissociative identity disorder all lead to uncontrollable lying. Given the atmosphere she's been surrounded by in the McCain campaign, it's no wonder she came up with a mythological black male.

That's how they operate over there -- fire everyone up into a raving tizzy, then when they do something stupid directly precipitated by the GOP leadership, that leadership throws them under the bus.

Use ya, then lose ya -- it's the GOP Motto. :spank:

26. Naw, not buying that. She is responsible. A lot of people have "mental issues"
and know how wrong this is. Coincidence that this occurred in "racist" western PA? I don't think so.

This is not a GIRL either. I am getting really irritated by her being constantly referred to as a girl. She is an adult. She is RESPONSIBLE and she is damned lucky that her narcissism did not get someone seriously hurt.

I only hope she goes away quickly.

34. She IS trying to claim irresponsibility due to mental issues.
She says she does not remember things, such as how the b got on her face, and i don't buy it. She clearly planned this as evidenced by her blog, her continuing on with her false story and the image SHE put out. She even tried to add a sex attack to her story once she realized she had a wider audience.

As for her having some sort of personality disorder...that was one of the first things i said when i heard about all of this. Regardless, she could have harmed others with her behavior and i am fairly certain she was aware aware of the fact. I hope she does not get away with her attempts to hide behind mental illness.

37. Actually this tells me the current batch of CRs have really deteriorated in "quality"
While the party overall hadn't fallen entirely off the right side of the map when I was a CR, there was a lot of wink wink nudge nudge around dirty tricks. Atwater was in charge at the time, after all.

Watergate was fresh in everyone's mind as to what happens when you get caught. So rule #1 was don't get caught, and rule #2 was don't do anything that could get tied to the party if you did get caught. We tried to be very clever and very creative about what we did.

If any of our members had toyed with the idea of pulling what Todd did, we'd have been all over them. We'd have done anything we had to, in fact, to keep them from pulling such a stunt. It wouldn't have been out of any sense of right and wrong, it would have been out of objection to stupid things. You have got to be pretty stupid if you think you can pull off such a stunt, and police are not that stupid.

But then back in those days even the far right of the party believed in silly liberal things like "reason". Now the fringe believes reason is a commie plot cooked up by N. VA atheists or something.

Not that I really think the Republican culture of party loyalty above all and when campaigning. anything goes, ought to be done "well". I think it ought not be done at all. But really, when they can't even do well at behaving badly, they're... pathetic.

45. I hear that.
And I'm not saying it hasn't ever made me do things I should have known better than to do, but in the end it's still my mind, and I still have a strong sense of right and wrong, so bipolar or not I should know what I should or shouldn't do.

And besides, most of the stupid things I've done were when I was young and the bipolar disorder hadn't even manifested itself yet. I was just a buffoon. :)
