Why Can't Obama Seal the Deal?
Today's Gallop Poll

Obama gained 2% since the previous Diageo/Hotline tracking poll and McCain stayed flat, giving the Dem nominee a 7% overall lead.

Today's electoral map

What the bettors think

All the polls are pointing to Obama getting 50% or more from LIKELY VOTERS!

All the electoral maps are pointing to an Obama LANDSLIDE!

Even the gamblers won't take a gamble on mcRacist!

So please, MSM, please tell me again how Obama just can't seem to "seal the deal" with the electorate because I find the feeling of having smoke blown up my ass to be quite refreshing. :eyes:

5. It's not entirely "the country". It's MORE the Media. Lionel on Air America Radio did an interview
this morning with Rose Aguilar. Here's her book http://www.amazon.com/Red-Highways-Liberals-Journey-Heartland/dp/0979482275

We are not as Divided as the Media WANTS us to think we are.

4. it's interesting I was just canvassing today and several voters over 75
were having trouble making up their minds, and they really couldn't tell me why... I wasnt sure if it had to do with too much information/ overload, or "traditional values" ie, they were having trouble accepting the idea of a biracial president. I just tried to frame the decision in the context of who would be best for health care, the economy and the world at large, compared to the past 8 years of Bush.

18. that's a new one! That's pretty good.
You can talk to people all you want and try to convince them, but it's all up to them and their own perspectives when they enter the booth or voting cube or small area.

Personally I miss the booths with curtains - when we vote here now, there are "wings" on the electronic voting machine, but one feels a bit exposed. (even though no one is looking.)

6. The deal has been sealed for a while now, I think.
But we're only just now realizing it. Or the media is only just now reporting it.

which took bets on the race, has already started paying off the people who bet on Obama!

14. Very true, but I'm posting about the media chant of "Why can't Obama seal the deal"?
They keep propping these talking heads up to ask that question even though the polls nearly all have Obama over the necessary 50%. I'm not suggesting we don't need to keep working as hard as possible, I'm making a statement about these pundits who want to keep the idea that Obama is a mystery who can't convince "regular" people to vote for him.
