17. I stayed home.
And on the 4th I nearly got fired as I exploded in a rant about how THEY FUCKING STOLE IT AGAIN.

Guess I should have taken two days off.

8. I put in for a vacation day a month ago for the 5th.
So I'll be off. I do it every 4 years for the presidential election,of course, last time I ended up watching American Movie Classics instead, because watching post election results was too depressing. I'm pretty sure that won't be the case this time.

10. OTHER: working at the polls, as an inspector
Edited on Fri Oct-24-08 11:35 AM by MH1
I have to be there from 6:15 am to god knows when (probably 9:30) pm.

I take a "vacation" day from work but it's not exactly a "day off". :)

Edit because reading is fundamental  - the 5th I will be working from home. So to speak.

13. I have two mandatory days off before the end of the year
so I figured I'd take the 4th off to drive folks to the polls, and the 5th off to sleep off the hangover I always get when I drink champagne.

16. I'll have to -
On the 5th, I'll either be hungover from the previous night's celebration, or I will be drinking myself into oblivion.

I expect the former.

28. It depends how late the Grant Park festivities go, and how quickly I can catch an el home.
I may go in late, but I don't have any more days off to take. And hell, I want to celebrate in the hallways at work. There are a lot of coworkers with whom I've been sharing my misery these last 8 years. I'd like the opportunity to celebrate with them as well.

33. Not really.
My job went up in smoke in the financial meltdown.

A Nobel peace prize winner (Muhammed Yunus) promised me that I would soon be doing something much more interesting than documenting home equity loan securitizations.
