4. I like this one because it feels like a "governing" ad.
Providing people with real information that can help them, not just campaign spin.

5. Sorry, but I don't like it.
The fetishization of tax cuts has been a right wing meme going back to 1980. It's best to stop playing on their turf. I agree that McCain is planning to give tax cuts to the rich and Obama to the middle class. But in the long run, what we need right now isn't lower taxes. It's more real investment in the public. And if your 401k has just dropped by 40%, $150 or $1000 in tax cuts isn't the big deal.

6. Are you serious?
This is indeed a huge issue with undecideds and a lie repeated over and over by McCain and Plain. This is a simple explanation as to why they are lying and a calculator to show people what the difference will be for THEM.

11. Yes. I don't want to vote based on who will give me the biggest tax cut.
I agree, McCain is lying and it's fine to stop that. But stepping back, I think we should rethink tax policy but I am sick of hearing about tax cuts. McCain is arguing that he's the tax-cutter, so Obama argues back that he is. Wrong discussion. Two discussions we need: 1) what should we spend money on (less military, less business welfare, more investment in health, education, infrastructure); 2) where should the money come from (progressive tax rates). I admit that my complaint is a minor one, Obama maybe needs to neutralize the stupid tax cut issue in this election, but after that, I would much prefer adult-level conversation about where the money should go and where it should come from.
