They're all on Joe's Big Tent Carnival Show accepting what's about to happen, rationalizing why it's going to happen, with a hint of denial and hope still. But otherwise they're addressing the fait d'accompli (sorry, I didn't French spell-check).

For 2 years they've been yakking about this, influencing public opinion, careers have been made on this race... and now it's gotten away from them. There is nothing they can do now to make it a horserace, as they have by selectively introducng a new plot line at the right moment.

I repeat: this race has gotten away from them. They are going through the stages of mourning now.

8. I noticed at one point...

...that Scarborough was trying to spew out the usual corporate memes (Remain calm!! All is well!), but
he looked stricken. Totally stricken. He was stumbling over his words and he was clearly upset.

I was getting my kids ready for school, so I didn't hear who said what--but I heard someone say that things
will go down, but not to worry---we would see a big recovery today! Then there was some chit chat about
people scooping up great deals.

I don't know about that... I'm no investing guru--but if we have a big dip today, I imagine that people
will finally understand that we're in deep doo-doo--and that we'll probably have additional plunges into
even lower territory.

I wish there was an "Economic channel of truth" for people to get REAL information without all of this
spin--where talking heads treat us like children who are to be controlled.
