2. Me.
Let's not fall into "OMG political genius!" syndrome, which occurs as follows:

1. A politician becomes the right man at the right time, and wins decisively. This victory depends on a vast number of complex, interdependent causes that are often irreducible.

2. All sorts of strategists and hangers-on are lionized as being "the reason" for the victory, despite their highly variable and unmeasurable degree of actual impact.

6. He May Not Be The Smartest, But He Sure Is One Of Them
Barack and Joe are pretty sharp as well. One of the most impressive things I have read and observed about Obama is that a lot of this campaign has his signature all over it, which is unusual for a candidate in todays politics.

7. The Obama campaign is one of the best run campains I've ever worked on.
Even down to the grassroots level, everything is organized, easy-going and uplifting. That starts from the top and rolls down.
