CNN - Sanchez reporting on Al Qaeda's preference for a McCain Administration
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 02:12 PM by FrenchieCat
based on a website statement......

The rationale they give in wanting McCain is in order that they can continue to "bankrupt" the United States a la USSR!

I wonder how voters will take this?

I would want to believe that they would want to do the opposite of what Al Qaeda wants, but then, that might be too obvious.

Anyhow, I think Clarke is coming on CNN now.

1. The Whole Strategy Of Al Queda, Ma'am, Is To Bait The U.S. Into Over-Reaction

McCain is their dream U.S. commander in chief: an impetuous, shoot-from-the-hip, heedless, double-down gambler with no horizon of judgement further than the next toss of the dice, a man who is readily rattled and prone to lashing out wildly when unsettled....

4. So how will the Voting masses interpret this?
can you weight in on that?

And yes, I agree with you that McCain is their dream. It would make their business boom....let alone countries in the world would be pissed at the US if McCain got in, so I'm not sure if we'd get the kind of cooperation we need from those we most need it from

6. Hard To Say, Ma'am
But it does provide an opening for making the obvious points of Old Lying John's unsuitable temperament and personality.

What a fucking load of BS...
The Islamists would have been crushed in Afghanistan had the capitalist and Maoist wackos not intervened on the Mujahideen's behalf.

3. Random babblings
on the Internets aren't worth the time of day.

Besides, I don't care what Al Qaeda thinks. This is my country and I will support who I damn well please.

5. The GOP will spin this in 2 seconds as "reverse psychology"..
Al Queda is saying that they want McCain when they clearly do not because McCain will keep attacking them. So they are saying that they want McCain to win knowing that we will then vote in Obama - which is who they REALLY want as President, because they'll be able to "test" him (ala Biden's statement).

Truthfully - Al Queda probably does want McCain.. he'll stay in Iraq for "as long as it takes". Obama wants to pull out and go into Afghanistan to actually go after Al Queda... they're not stupid.. they don't want Obama anhwhere near the presidency. They also know he'll be able to negotiate and be friendly with US allies in the middle east to put pressure on them.. people that frankly have been turned off by Bush, and would continue to avoid working with McCain.

7. I think the statement on the fact that Bush-McCain foreign policy
is bankrupting US treasury coffers though....

So I'm not sure that they can spin reverse psychology so easily, IMO.

8. Agreed.
Osama bin Laden said a few years ago that he wanted to bankrupt the US. Sure enough, that's exactly what our foreign policy is doing.

9. I read something that said the McCain people were spazzing over this.
They figure that they would have seized on this to beat Obama over the head had al Qaeda said something about him, so that's what Obama will do--but again, they underestimate his ability and inclination to stay on message.

10. Sanchez? As in Leslie Sanchez? Cause she's a GOP queen and admitting that would be an epic fail.
