God o'Mighty...7 Soldiers Killed Today...
That really breaks my heart. Another 7 soldiers bush will be hiding somewhere in a dark and gloomy morge. These kids deserve better. Their lives have been cut so short...for what?

1. Isn't that about 986 dead American soldiers now?
Such a disgusting waste.

7. Nope it is very accurate-they use Centcom press releases not the media
http://icasualties.org/oif/Methodology.aspx

There is no magic to coming up with the number of coalition dead from our war on Iraq . Our sources are not secret. In fact, our primary source is the U.S. government. Any private individual or news organization who wishes to keep track of war dead gets their information from this same source.

Whenever a death occurs, CENTCOM (the United States Central Command in Tampa , FL ) issues a brief news release that gives the bare facts about the incident: when it happened, how it happened, and the soldier’s regiment, if known. The only information not provided at this point is the soldier’s name. These releases are published regularly on the Internet at:

http://www.centcom.mil/

After the soldier’s relatives are notified of the death, the U.S. Department of Defense then issues its own news release that gives the soldier’s name, age, unit and hometown. Again, these can be found on the Internet here:

11. I said it was correct.
What's the disagreement here? I said the media count was wrong and the icasualties.org count was correct and you said "Nope".

5. ...how many kids have you killed today?
The old LBJ chant comes to my mind. I'm sorry that we've had to go through this again. So many lives cut short because of an illegal, unnecessary war!

Damn you, George Bush!!!

13. Part of the effectiveness of the old chant was the rhyme.

"Hey, hey, Shrub " doesn't rhyme with "How many kids did you kill today?" so it sounds flat.

Something that rhymes with "Georgie B" would be good but my rhyme-o-meter needs coffee to get going. . .

"Hey, hey, Georgie B., Give us back our democracy" is the best I can come up with at the moment. Need coffee. . .

buried deep in a yahoo article about the "non-capture" of saddam's aide...

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040906/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq&cid=540&ncid=716

<snip>
In other violence, a mortar barrage Sunday evening hit a U.S. base on the western edge of Baghdad, killing two U.S. soldiers and wounding 16 others, one critically, Maj. Richard Spiegel of the Army's 13th Corps Support Command said.

The soldiers killed and wounded all belonged to the 13th Corps Support, which oversees distribution of fuel, food and water to U.S. forces. As of Friday, 976 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq in March 2003, according to the Defense Department.

....notice the totaly false number of dead soldiers in there. How do these people live with themselves?

They have now updated the story to this...

<snip>With Monday's deaths and those of two U.S. soldiers in a mortar barrage outside Baghdad a day earlier, 985 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq (news - web sites) in March 2003, according to the Defense Department.

...the number is still wrong. It was 982 dead on Saturday.

14. Over 1,100 wounded in August
It seems many of the wounded are grievously injured.

The media not talking about it. The Kerry campaign not talking about it.

Iran and Syria next. Very very very disheartening.
