I just saw the Biden comment about Obama being tested in the first six months

on MSNBC a little while ago.

What was wrong with it? It sounded to me like he was saying that it was likely that the shit would hit the fan in the first six months and Obama would be tested and he would need all of our support. What I saw didn't seem to question whether or not Obama could handle the test. Was there more to it or is it just another case of GOPers snatching out the little bits they want to twist for their own use?

6. One of the local wingnut radio hosts....

said that the phrase "tested" was the equivalent of the US being attacked. He then went on to say that Biden was a "gift from the Republican gods". This particular announcer is a Rush wanna-be and his show gets worse every time Obama's numbers climb.

New presidents always have been the target of having to prove themselves. It's a non-point point.

9. Palin keeps saying Biden said "IF" He didn't say that.

Palin says Biden says "If Obama is elected president we'll face a crisis"

The truth is, the pentagon said whomever is the next president will probably face a crisis based on the history of new presidents.
Palin is trying to make it seem as if we are in danger if Obama wins, when if you think abut it, it's the opposite. With 70 countries backing Obama as our leader, it is LESS likely that any one will attack us because Obama is seen as more respected, civil and diplomatic. Obama ensures we'll be working towards peaceful relationship with other countries, not War.

10. Like rescuing an economy that's in the toilet . . .

. . . wouldn't be a major test in the first six months? Or winding down U.S. involvement in the war in Iraq? Or reversing the environmental degradation brought to you by BushCo? Or any addressing number of key issues?

The next president will be tested in a really big way, just to untangle the mess we're in NOW.
