Let's not get complacent about right track / wrong track numbers.
Wrong track numbers up at 60% may very well mean that a lot of people in the country are unhappy with the war in Iraq and other Bush initiatives, but those same numbers undoubtedly include many other voters who feel the country is going the wrong direction on abortion, gay rights, guns, and myriad other issues. Wrong track numbers will not equate to Kerry votes one for one.

This is true every election but may be more of a factor this year because the Bush / Rove slime machine has done such a good job smearing all Democrats as "girlie men". By definition, all "girlie men" are headed in the wrong direction.

So my wisdom out of all this is, do not be complacent, do not assume we can win without going full frontal negative on George Bush himself. In the red states he is running as the God candidate. If we cede him the character issue we will lose, regarless of RT / WT numbers.

So say I.

1. "going full frontal negative on George Bush"
Is that anything like flashing him? ;)

I agree with your assessment. We need to fight this thing like we really want to win. No rest.

3. So agree I.
Good catch, that "the country's on the wrong track" could just as easily mean "abortion is still legal" as "Iraq is a disaster."

There is absolutely nothing for us to be complacent about. We're quite literally in a life and death struggle here. A Kerry win will save lives. A Bush win will cost many more lives. Simple as that, and as serious.

4. Yes, and Bush / Rove and company may see it in even starker terms.
This election could well determine whether or not half the administration ends up in jail. They will not go quietly into the night, and they will not play by Marquee de Queensbury Rules, me thinks.
