For the record, 2004 was the redemption election.

2008 is the "rats running off a sinking ship" election.

Better late than never, but get real. I like Colin Powell and always have, in the way I like Dick Lugar. He's not bad by Republican standards. I'm glad he endorsed Obama/Biden... good endorsement, probably worth some votes.

I am not a Christian so I don't buy the Christian thing that redeemed sinners are cooler than people who were good all along. I don't believe in killing the fatted calf for the prodigal son while the good son shovels out the stables. It's cool to do the right thing after exhausting all other options, but doing the popular thing is seldom the stuff heroism.
