As promised, here is a link to the local newspaper article in which I was interviewed
about "joe the Plumber" issues. (Seems like old news now as the media has fed, burped, and moved on)

Yreka, Calif:

"An Ohio plumber named Joe found himself in the limelight Wednesday night when he was mentioned more than 25 times by Barack Obama and John McCain during the final presidential debate.
Joe Wurzelbacher, nicknamed “Joe the Plumber” by the media, spoke briefly to Obama when the candidate visited Ohio earlier this week. He has since been the main focus of discussion on cable news channels as people across the county, including many in Siskiyou County, resonate with the newfound political celebrity. Wurzelbacher told Obama that his tax plan would prohibit him from buying the business that currently employs him, and the encounter has sparked dialogue about both candidates’ plans on how to tax small businesses.
During the debate, McCain cited Obama’s exchange with the plumber, saying that Joe “wanted to buy the business, but he looked at (Obama’s) tax plan and saw that he was going to pay much higher taxes.”Obama responded by saying, “Not only do 98 percent of small businesses make less than $250,000, but I also want to give them additional tax breaks, because they are the drivers of the economy.”

1. Congrats, featherman!
You did an EXCELLENT job presenting Obama's position from a small businessman's viewpoint. I hadn't even thought about the gross vs net profits deal and you made the whole thing crystal clear. Kudos on a great job well done!

5. Excellent job! Good on you!
You got in one of the most important points; that the $250,000 is about NET PROFITS not GROSS RECEIPTS! Anyone running a business should surely understand the difference between the two! It's just amazing how people's minds lock up -- my mind is made up, don't confuse me with the facts

Thanks for fighting the good fight!

Rec'd, of course,
sw

9. Seems like you were too hip for the room but you did a great job anyway
Methinks you were talking over the heads of Siskiyou Daily (I drive through Siskiyou at least once a year, love the area, and have stayed there so I'm not knocking it).
