The only thing left to happen is for McCain to fall off a stage
Right now it is shaping up for Obama to win by about 10% I think it is nearly inevitable at this point. The most extraordinary aspect of Colin Powell's comment today was not his great endorsement of Obama, but what he said about the GOP and how bankrupt it had become

Time for the GOP to start the circular firing squad.

If the media starts taking about that as much as the endorsement of Obama. McCain is going to be completely in an untenable and defensive posture. He can fend off some of the attack,.... but watch for an increased number of Republican start talking openly about how poor the McCain campaign has been and what a poor choice Palin actually has been.

Liddy Dole and Much McConnell will follow Coleman and Collins in the next couple of days and the pundits will start declaring that the GOP is unraveling,

4. Clinton won the popular vote by about 8%.
If he wins by more than 10%, it'll be the biggest blowout since 1984.

5. you're right
Powell's denouncement of their tactics is telling. McCain better start promising the WORLD if he hopes to come from behind. Also, stop being so negative!!!

6. It happened to Gary Bauer too,
way back in the early days of one campaign (I can't remember the year). The candidates were flipping pancakes at some kind of "meet the candidates" breakfast. Bauer launched his into the air, took a step back to try to catch it in the pan, and plummeted off the stage.

Anyone remember that?
