1. I thought the skits were amusing, but what exactly did Palin do
that was funny? I missed that... seriously.

3. Well, she was punked, and she was the butt of a running joke...
... but I thought she handled it well. For what that's worth. :-)

14. It's well known that she didn't see it until hours before the broadcast.
Her handlers were complaining about that openly to the press.

However, she did see it, and she did go ahead with it. I'm sorry, but in my book that makes her kind of a dummy. If she were a Hollywood star, she'd be firing her agent this morning.

17. She could've said she wanted it changed and they would have done it.
So she liked the script.

8. Did you watch it?
The look she and Tina Fey gave each other was a scream.

The Weekend Update part when she did a Jane Curtin impression was funny too.

15. Yes. I think you're pulling our legs.
That wasn't a Jane Curtain impression, it was only Palin saying "goodnight, and have a pleasant tomorrow".

6. Frankly, I think she was
auditioning for a new job. She knows this VP thing isn't going to work out, and now her constituents up in Alaska have seen her true personality shine, so she's just looking for a new career. ;) That's all . . .

10. And that's the problem-
Look at Hillarys appearance, or Obamas or for that matter, McTroll. They always seem a bit uncomfortable, not quite knowing where to stand, and often times stumbling through what is written on the cue card. These people are not actors, they are politicians or public servants.

Sarah was good because Sarah is an actor, in the worst tradition, and that's why she was funny.

18. I thought she was hysterically funny in a really pitiful, clueless way.
Tina Fey and whoever he is (the big guy bashing her until he found out she was Palin not Tina then was all "you're hawt") were funny in a funny way. I laughed at her pitifulness.

20. I thought she did a good job
In the opening skit, Lorne Michaels and Alec Baldwin read their lines off cue cards and didn't look natural; I though she looked very natural and didn't read off the cue cards.

And whether she knew she was being punked on Weekend Update and was being a good sport or whether she was oblivious, again I thought she looked comfortable and natural in front of the camera.

It's like the debate--she didn't necessarily score any points except with those who liked her already, and there wasn't any substance behind what she said, but she didn't embarrass herself as a performer. SNL's digs at her and McCain's campaign notwithstanding (a pretty major "notwithstanding", of course!), I thought she did just fine. Which isn't really a surprise... she's gotten as far as she has by looking at ease in public and being self-assured in front of crowds and cameras.

31. Exactly
I saw the threads 3 hours before watching the program here in Nevada. Based on all the threads that accumulated during those three hours, the lock of all eternity was Palin had come across MUCH better than the consensus here.

There are posters here who would have ripped her if she saved two lives during the program.

I thought it was essentially a non-appearance, as I posted last night after viewing, but she certainly came across more positively than negatively. She really could have boosted her popularity if she had done the Weekend Update skit herself.
